Covering Arcs

Havn't suggested in a while so here's one...

I find it ironic I'm suggesting this when Id like to remove markers for troops off the map all together so you HAVE to use the map to triangulate your position but maybe (along with removing everything GPS like...) this can be range limited to 100m?

Remember the old "Arc of fire" indicator BF2 used to have? where you had a cone showing your direction of fire...

Ok now that's gone in PR my usual style is to tell my squad members when we're fortifying a position I'll say "shout out the Compass direction you're covering" if someones shouted "Cain covering North East" then everyone else knows north east is covered and the squad can figure out together where the holes are.

Stick a button on the mouse saying "covering" and when this button is pressed you EITHER get a cone of fire show up (temporarily) for that respective player on the map OR you have the chatbox flash up with "Sadist_cain Covering North east" I don't know if this can be linked to the compass thing or not and whether that's possible

Hope you guys get the jist of my idea. It'd useful to be able to lock down a defensive position far easier when there's a language barrier present

No it's not. Very often you'll find that placing markers at extreme distances will make it so that you no longer see them until you get closer, especially apparent when in a jet. Try it out on Kashan, for instance. Put the marker on the enemy's firebase and fly from one end of the map to the other. You'll notice that the marker isn't visible from approximately 3000 meters away.
