Personal Marker?

Hey U love the idea of there being markers that can be set by squad leaders, but i think as an addition, players who are not squad leaders should be able to put down their own markers.
this would be useful when
-sniping
-just walking anywhere
-using the grenadier kit
-flying choppers
-transporting squads

Resuggestion & Hardcoded

Hardcoded would mean it is not possible to do with Battlefield 2's engine. I'm not sure if it is, but it sounds plausible. Resuggested indeed, for more information about the issues the dev's had with this idea, please use the search function of the forum.

markers are not realistic

i hope there is no permanent markers in next version of PR (exept permanent markers on map ofcourse.).
Possible a temporary and dissapered markers to show a direction or distance, i mean it may be shown at 2-3sec then dissapears, but marker on tactical map are stays.

I hate markers, too. But I wish they'd at least be able to put static and up-to-scale range finders on the binos and rifles so you have to find the range by comparing the objects you see to the range finder.

i remember suggesting accurate mil dots on the binocs but it doesn't work due to the fact that
different resolutions means different ranges. still, it would be great if the DEVs found a way around it

Possible use aim grid of your binoculars or optic sight for finding the range to target.
In PR binoculars aim grid's is bull shit and very far from reality. It very hard to measure distance to the target by it.

Soldier B: where?
Soldier A: *points with his finger.*

Soldier A: *3 o'clock, (west\north\east...) orienteer red container *
Thats all...
In real life you not see any markers before itself dude...

If the rifle and the binocs had their own range finder, then we could easily get rid of markers. As for now however, markers are essential.

It has it, but not correct and non realistic.
If a rangefinder reticles in PR were be more realistic and correctly then you may find out range to target easily.
Example finding range to target (men) in russian optical sight PSO-1:
1st figure range ~ 400 meters
2nd figure range ~ 100 meters
Average growth of the person 1,7 meters.
