I'm probably being an idiot, but when I try to pop smoke or drop flares when piloting a vehicle, I zoom in instead. I checked my 'controls' setup and the button which is zooming me in should be the smoke / flares.

What am I doing wrong?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place or has already been asked before, but I couldn't see it anywhere...

X in tanks is the optics. To pop smoke, press 3, then click.

Is that the same for Choppers? Is this mentioned anywhere I should have read it?

I'm pretty sure flares are X still, but I have mine mapped onto my joystick anyway.

Yeah airplane flares are still x.
