REALISTIC INCENDIARY GRENADE

Hey!


I just read lots and lots of posts about how to make incendiarys work better ingame.

As for myself I have to say it is extremely annoying when an incendiary, which burns of a diameter of not even half a meter will take out a razorwire and tanktrap that stretches ten times that lenght!

Not to offend you DEVs but what were you thinking? Adding an incendiary nade that in real life will burn through almost anything in its range, but it is being used ingame as some PAINT rubber tool :S.

The main thing I want to say about incendiarys is, if they are going to be ingame please let them be realistic.

Edit: Examples of what they do IRL:

1. Take out soft vehicles this includes choppers, boats even damage some apcs? (burn through engine, drivetrain, tires etc.)
2. Destroy heavy machine guns/damage it?
3. Repair station (if it should be ingame is another subject...).
4. Weapon caches/crates.
5. damgage infantry that is in the burning radius badly!!! ~2000 degrees C.
6. Getting through locked doors?
+ more?

If it is to be used as a gesture of taking out a firebase I think knife is better (I agree with some other posts and say knife is better) that way you cant do the "gesture" on long range by throwing it!

There is a reason why razorwire is used IRL, because it slows down/or stops infantry, if an incendiary would work as in PR the military wouldnt be using razorwire at all... give specialist or more kits a cutting tool and let it take a veeeeeery long time to destroy the razorwire. If you dont have that time, go around it ;)

Well if you play the game a few more times you will notice the Incendiary's already do all of those things except burn people.

Also have you ever used an incendiary IRL?

Oh man, in that video, it can not be a good idea to be playing with incendiary grenades around tables full of fragmentation grenades...

they will kill players the dmg of this grenade is done before you see the fire effect.

Tip theses grenades open wooden lucked doors.

Yea added that to the list, sounds pretty obvious. Does not do it ingame thou?

Most definitely I highly doubt anyone would store live hand grenades on a table like fruit. You can see some of them are taken apart if you look closely.

yes it is in game I was trying to let people that didn't know they did that fuction

Im pretty sure if the Dev's made it hurt infantry it would be used as a killing device instead of a device to destroy emplacements.

While Thermite dose burn at high temperatures, you would have to pretty much step on it as its radius is rather small. Most likely it wouldn't kill, but would seriously burn them.

No your not understanding.

In-Game right know you can kill INF with them go get one drop it at your feet and watch or throw it at the feet like the RKG

so many times i am confused about ppls ideas on this game,
incendarys are a token asset killin device allow me to list the uses an ull se they are pretty realistic albeit not a simulation.
-they kill trucks nicely especially if they are damaged also cars
-they kill inf if directly at there feet also make wounded INF killed!
-they open wooden doors
-they create a makeshift smoke screen
-they destroy assets, the razor wire issue about num#9 takin out wire is true but how often does wire stop infantry .. er always they have to deal with it a the #9 have to be placed accuratley

Lets remove ability to throw them, there will be less actions where people are tryingo to attack manned apcs/tanks.. I think rushing a tank with just incendiary grenade is quite unrealistic : >.

I suggest leave it how it is? I have never seen anyone complain about using them in game, only a few suggestions on the forums, kinda says that nearly all PR players are happy with them.

This is being fix'ed in 0.9 they where not meant to be used this way.

But if you where to get one off on the top i am sure even the US tank would take some type of dmg.

Hm, Aren't incendiary grenades the same thing as Thermite?

From what I have seen, Thermite can do some pretty bad stuff to humans :\
