Question about creating your own server and battlerecorder

edit: just realized this is in the wrong section, my bad on that.

So me and my brother like to start a training server on Kashan every now and then, and we'll set up enemy targets (like vehicles or something) at some locations and then take up A-10s and we'll fly formations and then attack. I love taking screenshots of things like this, and I realized, what about battle recorder? If i could open up one of those and just take screenshots from outside my own cockpit, how nasty would that be?

Now of course theres a dilemma that I'm not even sure can be sorted out. If I create a local training server, is there any console command to enable battle recorder for that session? Or maybe a server config or something for PR?

Thanks in advance for any help, I'd love to get some better screenshots of moments like this:

Use a program like BattleDirector or Gaffa Machinima Tool

Anyway, when your in game, enter this command:

demo.recorddemo (enter name of demo here)

Dont include the brackets. After your done, enter the console and type:

demo.stoprecording

Then you'll recieve a message telling you it has stopped recording.

You can view the demo's in BD or other tools, try it out.

so that "demo.recorddemo" only works with third party tools or is that a real BF2 command? If anything I'll get the third party stuff, but is BattleRecorder even that great? I was told a while back that its basically as if your a spectator in which you can "fly" anywhere you want during a previous battle and see what was going on. I planned on getting some "over the shoulder" type shots from an A-10 on a convoy or a bombing run or something to that effect.

Once you are in game you hit the 'tilda' key which looks like this ~ and is in the top left of your keyboard.

Then you type in just what Chief said, "demo.recorddemo demo1" except you don't use the quotes. The "demo.recorddemo" is the command, then you have to put in a space and then you name your recording, in this case I have called it "demo1".

Once you have finished the game or stopped the recording you need to exit PR. Then need to go to your mod folder and find the "demos" folder. This will have your recording in it. You then need to copy that out of there and then paste it into your mydocuments/battlefield2/profiles folder. Then you go back, crank up PR and go to the "barracks" section to watch your recording ......... pheeeew .... yes it is a bit of a long winded process.

I don't mind the recorder. It's a little cubersome because it does not have a 'rewind' feature, all you can do is play, pause and fast forward .... but it is great fun flying around a map being able to see all. ;)

Also, record at high quality, in your console type: sv.demoquality 10
After that, start recording and do your thing :) .

Does that command only work on local servers or can it be used on internet servers for example to record a particularly epic round?
