[0869] Medic Kit

Ejod,
Squad Medic Requested Sniper Kit, thereafter nobody in the squad coud spawn with or request a Medic kit. Problem resolved itself after Sniper was killed and respawned.
This very well could be an unintended side effect of the limited spawn kit.

It's cause the ex-medic still had the medic kit selected on the spawn screen, so it was reserved for him. Once people learn how the new request system works, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Well thing is once you spawn you cant select another kit to spawn with untill your dead so your stuck with that last kit selected untill you die.

Exactly.. Best for persons to stick to their Roles, and when possible, spawn rifleman and request the limited kit such as medic..

"Fixing" this issue would cause other issues, so the reservation system is better and easier to understand.

this sentence would fit as one the "pr-tip" on the mapload screen with the advise that otherwise the ar/medic will be blocked

DB... really, if you spawn medic, you should not be allowed to change kit until you die, i know its a little nasty, but only responcible people should be medic in this current setup, in my opinion.

Would it be possible to make it so the only kit 'selectable' on the kit screen would be the rifleman kits?
This way, a medic that requests a different kit could just be told to select the rifleman kit, and then since the medic kit is no longer part of anyone in the squad, it can be selected again.
Only issue would be if someone could spawn with the medic kit just because another medic had the rifleman kit selected, so as long as the system already understands that the medic is in play (which I assume it does, considering that you can switch around medic kits in a squad when the medic dies and still no one can spawn medic).

Hey, that's actually a damn good idea for squad leader tactics. Make your medic choose rifleman and request the kit at a supply crate. Thanks Pancho.

well they had that in 0.7 i think, you could only choose officer, riflemen and ammo riflemen. Maybe return to that but with specialist also?

have to find a crate to get it
have to spawn at main so we can :
- have a rally
- officer
- AR ( ar is a bigger game breaker then the medic bug but w\e )
have to die because we couldn't get a medic after originally losing the kit in the field
The only ways to step arround this is to take a step back wards, ether
- limit the squad to 2 spawnable medic kits
- not putting the limit
- and allowing rally point kit selecting
there is so much little tweaks that you could do but i think il live with this one then take drastic new look to are spawn menu to fix it.
In the betas you guys have been running, run some of the ideas on this thread both from mine and proposed by others. See with ones are more popular among pubbers. have 2 servers full of ppl use the beta and make up to 200 pl who havn't yet beta tested pr to see what they think about the system.
In conclusion
NO IT'S NOT A GOOD IDEA.
And i'm pretty sure i've explained why.

you could get the medic/sniper to leave and rejon the squad after someone else had selected medic kit... don't always need a complicated solution
like my local convenient store says: "the simplest is often the best"

My question would be, why in the hell do you allow your medic to have a sniper kit on any map for that matter?
You are a squad leader, its your responsibility to assign kits to players. He don't want to listen - kick from the squad . Problem solved.

He will still have the medic kit for your squad assigned to him and the same problem still stands except he's not in your squad anymore.
This is a problem with people "stealing" kits, i.e. being medic but changing to another squad and still have it, rendering the first squad ineffective during the time the medic is alive+kit re-spawn timer.
