Quick question. Is it possible to add a SKS with a scope to replace one of the marksman kits on insurgency? or maybe make it to where one of the requested ones are SKS's to mix the game up a bit?

lets see some research ect when making suggestions please ! pictures of SKS's scoped in hands of INS or caches ect.

Just trying to move the thread along. I really dont have an opinion per se but thought this topic might warrant further discussion if given a push.





Regarding pics with a scoped SKS in an insurgents hands, well.... I couldn't find any clear ones. In fact, most SKS combat pics I found were circa Vietnam era like this captured SKS...



And come to think of it, we might not need another Insurgent marksman rifle now that the SVD gets more mags. I have always felt the Insurgents should have more feared scoped marksman/sniper rifles as they pose a huge threat in reality.

Seriously Gazz how hard can it be to slap on a scope on a rifle, simple scopes isnt really expensive and Insurgents comes from all sorts of social classes from countries around Iraq.

how hard ? not very .... but this is project reality, there are pictures of golden AK's , ww2 machine guns , muskets ect from iraq . should we have them in PR? no, because they are not common enough.

And the Taliban mainly have Soviet guns (or Chinese copies etc.) which were left behind after the Soviets left Afghanistan. Also most arms dealers buy surplus for the Soviets and the Chinese, so a Dragunov would be a lot more common

And how would the sks be more feard then the draganov?

Since insurgents cannot request kits, there would be 1 marksman of this sort....1 per 32 players + getting pwned soon = completely cool for me...

And in the end i dont really care

Ok guys unless you can code model and export a weapon your self they already have idea set up for 0.86 and 0.9 will be the last big patch so if you want to really see it in game go dl 3d max and get started because you way be good at it by 0.9

0.9 as the last big patch does not mean that the devs would plan to scrap PR but just that they want to do more often smaller updates to be more flexible

Modern arms manufacturers! They've got product to sell, dammit!

For the Iraqi Insurgents a Tabuk sniperwould make more sense. Tabuks were produced in large numbers and continue to see use among both the Insurgency and Iraqi forces.

Pure speculation but the picture of the SKS in Iraq is likely the result of someone welding an SVD dovetail mount to the side of the receiver - not a common configuration.
