other day i played a Al-bashra, i was insurgency and all i had too play was a AK-74 and I must say i had a lot of fun with it i found fighting with The iron sight way more fun and interesting and difficult then using the Optic rifles.

And it got me thinking why does PR not have maps where there is only Iron sight rifles. I know most people would not like this idea because they believe that They would Inevitably get less kills if all they had was iron sights.

Though that not exactly true they would still get the same amount of kills they would just have to work a little bit harder to get them.

Getting kills with Say the M-16 optics is so easy now I can practically do it in my sleep. And it kinda to easy,

In some maps it is easier to get kills with ironsight compared to optics. Don't see the reason why optics should be removed from some maps.

i think there was talk of a 1980's era PR in the community modding section, which probably means only marksmen/snipers having scopes. personally, i think that would make for some really interesting firefights

Iron sights own optics anyday

Quicker to bring upto you're eye, and you can supress the fool with his optics as he tries to get a headshot.

Then move up and destroy him with a grenade or knife

I think this would be a good idea, it'd show people how good iron sights are.

Also, there arn't many proper iron sights! As the Americans, usually I have to play MEdic or HAT to get proper ironsights! I would like more please, seeing as it's so easy to kill with them!

Yup, iron sights owns! I would like to see something like LeChuck said released. It would be pretty cool.

Same reason no one's forced to use Scopes when playing Kashan. It should be a choice. However, if you're talking about request able kits, then I also think there should be choices (which would simply require some codding with the "T" rose menus) but the Devs have never expressed an interest in expanding the rose menus/ kit request system.

WEll, if it's a topic on allowing guns to have both iron sight and scope options (because a few kits are forced to use the scope, IE LAT, Grenadier), then I'm for that. But the best way to do that would be to redesign the T menu.

And While that would be a great aesthetic for the game, and would allow for many more options with it, the Devs have said they aren't interested in developing it.

I asked them about this and I was told that you would need to.

Model the weapon again

Code it

export it

and a few other things.

its not just code it to the T cross.

It needs to be done for all LAT Grenadier & MG

They will gladly add it to the game if you do it for them.

Well, not exactly. They still have the models from the old Ironsight Grenardier, don't they? They certainly still have the Iron sight MGs, and for the LAT we already have the models exported, coded, and such for the primary Iron sight weapon. So in that case it's not actually that hard a thing to do, mainly just rewritting codes to redirect to different models and such.

However, it's true that you could do it without any updates to the T rose, other than having the RMB/LMB select between irons and scopes, but I'd love to see something done with the Rose menus myself, though I wouldn't have to expect the Devs to do it

But was it? Wasn't there an Ironsight G3 UGL? I'm 100% sure that's not vBF2... nor would the SA80 UGL ironsight have been. That means that only the Chinese or American grenadier kits could have been vbf2 models.

iirc there was an aweful SA80 model akin to teh LSW model

the day that our military limits what kind of optics our troops can use in a certain theater is the day this suggestion will be realistic. until then, this is kind of a silly suggestion. choice is good, i personally like to use aimpoints in maps like fallujah and ramiel wheres theres alot of close fighting, but i see plenty of guys using acogs too and that suits them just fine.

Yea, I can't quite remember the 0.75 days, so I guess the Grenardier kits wouldn't be able to have the option for iron sights if that's the case (yet), but I mean the LAT and now the SAW should have the option between the irons and scope.

But that's irrelevant to the thread (as I take it), and as it's been said before, this is not realistic or useful in anyway.

LMG for US , USMC , NATO , BRITISH , MEC , PLA , RUSSIAN , and the one I missed.

they must all be the same type of model aka no vbf2 if there is a PR Model.

And this hardly matters, people having a choice makes sense and it also makes coding the kit screen easier as well.

For years Pakistani has allowed The taliban to flourish in side there country allowing them to slowly grow in strength and spread like a cancer through out the country, For years the Pakistani government has done nothing too quell them giving them autonomy in exchange for peace. now it coming back to bite them on the Arse for they miss judged the taliban‘s intentions they don‘t want peace they want to take over the world and Pakistan is first to be conquered.

The taliban work like this, they move into a county and slowly they brainwash the local populous using tv commercials and propaganda and the best propaganda machines out there religion to win supporters. Once they have won the hearts of the people They then kill the leader ship of the populous or government and then take power. and with all vestiges of opposition removed they then rape the populous of all it resources.

That is what they are now trying to do in Pakistani, Their government perhaps to late has realised this and is now fighting a desperate war in order to save there country.


of course i do not sanctify the Pakistani government some of there methods in controlling the Insurgency is questionable, i never the less support Allies against are common enemy,


The map im suggesting is to be set in Pakistani between the Pakistani military and the Insurgency.

both military’s do not have access to optic Equipment being of third world country’s so it be kinda stupid to give them high tec equipment when they most likely in real life will be using old rusty AK‘s.

So use the weapons the Insurgency has the AK-74, Quad-Ak, RPG-7, MP5 maybe, are perfect fit for this factions.
And there will be no need to make new modals ether why bother It unnecessary and a waist of resources when we already have what is needed. We got the weapons and even the vehicles as well.

And it may be plusible for the pakistani's to be using MP5 there one of those gun's that are pritty much turn up every where. Back in the good old day's in Australia for example Before Adolf hittler cough cough, i mean john howard come to power we used to be able to own MP5's, not any more though..
