GL smoke/ explosive swicthing

ok im almost 100 percent sure that on most guns there is a animation when you swicth between firing modes

so on grenade launcher kit can we put the grenade launcher in 1 slot and make it so when you switch firing modes with it the animation makes the guys switch shells?

i dont know if this is clear what i am saying...if not please say

iirc you can't switch between differnet kind of projectiles, you can only ammo link the smoke and explosives as seperate weapons.

You're absolutely spot on concerning firing modes. There's a neat animation for all of the weapons. M4 series being my favorite. But that's changing from single shot to burst or automatic. Not exactly switching the type of round.

The only weapon to exhibit a sort of two weapon thing is C4 and the IED. Right clicking brings up a phone after placement. Right clicking again changes it to C4/IED which you can throw. I'm not sure if that's been looked into to have different rounds on weapons, but I'm not sure if it's feasible.

Besides, zooming is essential when using a grenade launcher, so the C4 method is out since right-clicking traditionally zooms you in. And as far as I know, there isn't many other ways to change the rounds in the BF2 engine.

Does the grenadier need an extra slot, thus requiring this suggestion to take effect? Otherwise, it seems like a small thing to me.

Couldn't you just make it like a firing mode, (burst single) Smoke, HE?

Yeah but different firing modes have an animation. Switching between smoke and explosive M203 grenades does not.

Can't we just have the M203 become empty when you switch? That way you have to reload it.
So every time you want to use it you have to load a new grenade, probably realistic too, or do the soldiers who have it walk around with it loaded?

I'm pretty sure they have safeties, but I'm not sure if soldiers patrol with them loaded

The empty grenade launcher isn't a resuggestion I think. And would be a nice touch if indeed soldiers don't load them until they are needed.

I think that what the double select is good for is switching between firing types Automatic burst or single shot... uhmm.. it Might be possible but there could be some problems with that ... GOOD POST THOUGH

also you wouldnt be able to see if you have Granade or smoke selected soo.. it miight be a failed idea?? :l i like it though
