Since gas masks are my favorite collection hobby, i figured, lets introduce them to Project Reality. Gas masks are issued to soldiers today. In some situations gas masks are required to stay alive. I think PR should have some tear gas action in urban assaults. I know most of you will be thinking, "Isn't tear gas meant for riots???" Yes and no. Tear gas has been used in combat. However, this topic is arguable because it is illegal for a country to use riot control tactics as method of warfare is unlawful... Although, what if the Chechnyan rebels began using it...

Also, only combat engineers should deploy tear gas (or any other NBC agent)

Chemical or Biological warfare isn't really used in a battle these days? Dunno how we would really represent it if we did implement it anyways.

I see your point.... I have read some recent reports that in 2008 Russians used tear gas to clear areas. This was in fact breaking a chemical ware fare treaty on January 13, 1993. The United States has also signed this treaty. But i still think insurgents/Taliban/Chechnya should use considering they don't have to follow the treaty? Don't you think?

Yeah I'd love to see gas masks ingame.

Ya it was... But i own about 4 gas masks. There all annoying IRL!

Yes it was. It was also annoying in the only version of PR I recall it being in (0.4, on Street. Insurgent policeman with DAO-12 + tear gas = uberpwnage)

ya, i guess its just my awkward fascination with gas masks...

I have an idea, if your squad deploys it, your and other squads in a 50m will automatically deploy. Then, if your in the opposing team, you have to deploy yourself.

yes, they may be annoying, but Gas Masks are frigging BADASS. Maybe help you clear a room or something?

Affirmative. It was intended for both civilians and military personal to effectively wear radio gear.

For some reasons, gas masks have alway scared the hell out of me.

I feel really uneasy when I see them. It's worst than watching an horror movie.

that overlay is too restricting.

with mine you barely have any visual awarness that it is on your face.

also having the filter on the front is a bad idea as it resricts movement on the black one you posted and others it can block your field of view.

Bit off topic but anyone seen the video where the guy makes kazoos out of gas masks. Believe it is that first white one ostrander posted.

give evry soldier excpet pilots a gasmak whit a deploy time so the teargas can actually be used.

you have just summed it up for me. Yes gas masks are probably the most repulsive thing you can wear in combat. It really blocks your field of view as stated before

Since the front filter seems to be a bad idea, how about a hose?
