Hey, i was just thinking that it would be a good map to add some Close Air support features in, altho it is not needed the lack of jet maps could be filled in here

IIRC the tanks were taken out because of the map being too small, Kufrah would need to be at least double the size to even consider this suggestion.
Just imagine trying to land, you'd have no run up. Even when you're in the air, you'd have to constantly turn, there's simply no space to manoeuver.

Its way to small, if you just went straight you would be across the map, out of bounds in like 6 seconds

It was doable with helicopters back when they were in, but this map is waaaaay too small to have planes.

Seriously, no. I put an A10 on ramiel to test something once in PRSP, and there is no way you can do anything.
An LB with hellfires or hydras would be an interesting thing though.

Well, there was/is an LB variant with AT missiles, I don't know if those were hellfires, though.

more maps should have two seat attack helicopters. As most modern engagements have some sort of airsupport on call.

Map is too small...Tho if it was possible to make reaaaaaaally wide out of bounds area if youre in a plane (wich would be good for any map, but only for planes, so they "come in" and fly away...sure enemys can go there to find and destroy them.
But the runway would look straight stupid on such map.

The map is just waaaaaay to small for choppers, so jets dont even come into the equation.
Static AA defence extends out to about 1300m, and terrain isnt drastic enough to warrant low flight. Now if you had an FB in all four corners, or even two, it would just be an excuse for solo/selfish players to go and lose the team tickets.
So that makes transport, scout and attack a no-go.
From another point of view, it would just be hell for the ground forces trapped in a little box of desert while the Jets clean up.
As it is, i feel that having IFVs is too much too much heavy gear. It boils down to who has the most IFVs by the end of it. Of course, the vulnerability to HAT is a great improvement over previous versions with MBTs owning all.
A step down to APCs (the likes of strykers and BTR60s) would open up infantry combat as the focus of the map, and not leave them as an additional 'weapon' for the IFVs.
...mongol...

Yeah but the infantry version suits that role, no need to eliminate the mechanized one. Which seems to be more popular anyway.
