Shooting at wrecked (friendly) vehicle is considered team vehicle damage

A minor issue....
Noticed this last night:
Was shooting at an enemy hiding by a wrecked and burning (friendly) vehicle using a MBT machinegun.
As I also hit the burning wreck while killing the enemy, I was presented with a "Team Vehicle Damage" notification.

Bug?

Limitation of the BF2 engine in that it still determines a vehicle to be tied to the team that owned it even after it's a wreck.

We keep wrecks around for a bit because they make for "dynamic" cover.

We have some plans to do more with this, but I don't think we can work around this minor annoyance.

This is a problem with useing wreckages as cover. You dont know when it will explode, that why I never go near them and never will go near them.

Thats if they still explode, I think they do, even if they were to just disapear again thats another reason they are not very usefull as cover.

Still I like the wreckages.

Yeah .. agreed... but I am going to try and address that for a future release. I have a cool idea, but most of the time those don't work as easily as I hope hehe... so we'll see, but I share the concern.
