Suppressed Rifles and UAV.

I have a few questions starting with this weapon, the C8 with suppressor, what class will use it and why is it suppressed?
This UAV too, its on the mod's media page and seems worthless unless you use it as a player guided spotting aircraft
(Player presses enter on it or a control point to control it to spot enemys)
And on the case of the suppressed C8, what will be its equivalent's? For the MEC may i suggest a suppressed AKS-74U but not those crooked suppresser's like on Americas Army, if you have seen Metal Gear Solid 2 then you will know what i mean, it will add to a more professional looking MEC too.

There's always the
VSS Vintorez for the MEC, since they use Soviet stuff.

Yeah i was thinking about the UAV to, had the idea it would be cool if they Totally redid the UAV/command centre thing so it was one building that players could go into, and UAV controls and a commander map/radio/computer/thingy were in there? it would make Much more sense i think...

I think a silenced Krinkov would be killer for MEC, also. In regards to the UAV, to the best of my knowledge, we will not be employing it as EA/Dice decided to use something very similair for that last rendition (whatever it was called!). We have our own surprises when it comes to forward reconaissance! Mwahaha! As far as the C8 goes, I think it will in fact be a Spec Ops weapon, as now we are beginning to get into more complex game modes, firing silently from concealed positions would have great applications on night maps and objective modes where certain enemy assets need be destroyed and stealth can play a big part in that.

Ooh yes, silenced Krinkov plz!
Glad to hear that about the UAV, Lifetaker. It's my least favorite Commander option in vBF2 and I think it would just frustrate a lot of long-time players. Can't wait to see what that surprise is regarded forward recon :B

According to
http://world.guns.ru, they still use VSS Vintorez against the Chechens. There's also the cheaper
VSK-94 used by law enforcement...

I think I've heard of America's Army players complaining that you gotta get a headshot to take anyone down with it

Sounds about right with a 9MM.

Silenced Uzi could work. The current Aks-74u is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. Toss it!

I just shot a AR-15 with a suppressor this last week. I don't know but if you have ever shot this weapon with this configuration it sucks. The gas that gets pushed back into the chamber and in your eye, you can shoot maybe 3 time and your eye waters.

9mm only refers to the diameter of the projectile. The cartridge behind it is 39mm. The round is 9 x 39mm, unlike the 9 x 19mm Parabellum pistol rounds fired by NATO sidearms and submachineguns, making it an intermediate rifle cartridge.
To my knowledge, no VSS or AS rifles have been procured by any MidEast states or found in insurgent weapons caches in Iraq.

Why the dam Uzi? I am sick of GTA style gun selection.
The current AKS-74U is a horrid and ugly peice of ****, it looks like a radioactive chemical plant machine.

Silenced short-range rifles are great for supporting your squad when attacing or defending. The MEC is a coalission army and not a group of insurgents, therefore they would have such rifles available. The Vintorez would be a velcome addition to the MEC-side, but as EB says the russians are still kind of causius about who gets to buy them. A silenced AK-74/103 would maybe be the natural choice.

I gotta agree. I've never liked the current ASK-74U, it does the actual weapon no justice and looks like a big metal box. A nice composite black version in the woodgrain style to compliment the AK-101 would be awesome, but a battered skin on it with some tape and a silencer and you got yourself a proper gun.

It'd be nice to see a whole set of new weapons developed for close range maps, starting in the success formed by the SPR. And if this new 'breakthrough' in the class system is anything to go by, I can't wait to see all these new weapons creeping their ways into our system.
I know this is totally off topic, but can anyone give me a link to the EULA for BF2 mods? I've heard about some of the rules, but I'd love to read through them myself.

Because the Uzi is an extremely common and reliable weapon; it's been around since the early 1950s and is still in production.
The H&K MP5 is used in several MidEast states, also.
