Mainly Mechanized infantry on both sides, supported by Transport helicopters.
Map is filled with mountains, and valleys, some villages. And will mainly be desert.
The terrain is very hostile in the way that its hard to come from point A - B quickly, so infantry will have trouble moving quickly on the ground, and APCs are perhaps lacking in mobility, that is why the only way to make FOBs is to use helicopters, since trucks cant reach these extreme conditions.
I have given Infantry a "bonus" towards veichles, by adding lots of terrain cover, APCs might be a force to be reckoned with, but its no match against a squad, if by itself. The infantry has many places to hide behind, and APCs should act as QRF and a platform of firesupport.
As of right now i am 10 % progress on this map.
To do:
Villages
Small houses spread out in the map
Outpost
Etc.

Yes well, this is just the last part of the rough adding, and after that i will proceed to detailing everything, like the vilages...
right now im just using 5 min max on a village, moving on to next one. Thats really rough..
Saving etc..
Then when im happy with the rough parts, i will add all the additonal stuff, like details, trees, cars etc.
more houses. Add to the feel.
And then i will do some more painting, cause the paint looks awful, and do some undergrowth. Then go through it...
Then detail it all.... Which is going to take up 90 % of the time...

AAS 2-2, but that I assume you mean 2 flags to defend and 2 to attack, isn't that few for a 4x4 map?

The secret is revealed Looking good wicca, but maybe we should consider another team to fight against instead of mec?

I've talked to Wicca about it, and he said he was tired of all the INS maps, and just wanted AAS, hence vs. MEC.
...We could make a version where we fight Taliban as well, would require a lot of work though, as maybe not two airstrips e.g. is needed etc.

Actually, I'd suggest removing the Leo for the Norwegians (especially as they're not actually used in Afghanistan), and rather have one or more CV90s instead, or even Ivecos. See how a counter-insurgency equipped force stacks up against one geared for conventional warfare.
Would be an interesting experiment, and a cool storyline. "A recent MEC advance has brought MEC armoured forces into contact with Norwegian ISAF forces in northern Afghanistan. Equipped for counter-insurgency warfare, the Norwegians have to rely on skill and tactics to hold the MEC forces back until reinforcements arrive." Something like that?
Do you have reference pics, i.e. are you basing the map on a real location? I wouldn't mind seeing Norwegians fighting MEC forces village to village on a large map.

What i really would like would be pics of villages in Northern Afghan...
I just made this map from the back of my head.
There will be 3 villages and 1 former "Taliban" base, as you all know the Taliban is known for having "strongholds" with families etc. Warlords, its going to be something like that. If someone got a pic of that aswell, it would be nice.
Also we really need to have a talk about the layers, the only reason i made this map was cause i wanted an AAS map with conventional Forces to fight norgies. Like US and the rest, its kinda like you said KP, waiting for reinforcments.
And i agree, we can have more CVs, and no leos... But then we must balance it just right for the players.
Leo is nice, but its not in use.
New suggestion then:
Layer 1 (64)
5 CV90, 5 BMP3
1 Jet per side
1 Helicopter (will we use the norwegian 412?)
Layer 2 (32)
4 CV90s
1 Helicopter
IVECO 2
Layer 3 (16)
1 CV90
1 Helicopter
IVECO 4
Layer 4 (Skrismish)
Just a village, or 2 of the villages
But we must talk about this on Xfire, the community can also ask what they want, but its up to the mod lead for the final decision.
// Wicca out
Edit: I forgot the JETS! sorry! gimme 2 sec

True, but there are L2's rolling down there that could be worked into a storyline. Or things could change...
Not very effective in the current scenarios, but I think that this move was more of a show of force thing:
