If I download the game online, can I still play the mod?

I own a copy of Battlefield 2, but during the install it says please start again from the begining, at the very end of the installation. I'm willing to buy the game again to play this mod, but the nearest game store for PC games is a good while off. If I download the game from the official Battlefield Website, can I still run the mod?

If you have a real CD-Key for online playing and you use the no-cd image or if your disk work for playing. There will be no problems for the mod.

You can, but the file structure is organized differently and can be a pain.

Or, you can buy new from Amazon for $8.

Or, Buy new from NewEgg.com for $10 with free 3-day shipping.

Your disks might be damaged or dirty, try cleaning them up a bit.
If you still have the CD-Key no need to buy new game, --- snip ---

EDIT: Yeh, the mod work on the download version as well.

Edit:Even if he has the CD-key, telling a user to "pirate it" is still in the "illegal subject" categories.

I didn't think you could.. oh well =P

But yeah, you need a working CD key to play online. So.. look on the back of your manual.
