Why is the c4 timed and not remotely controlled? It impossible to ambush with C4 now (that's the reason?).

I liked the timed c4, but it can also be denotated (sp) at least I think.

the enginner has 1 super remote C4.
the spec opps gets 3 SLAMs (Timed C4) wich is ment for destorying arty cannons ect and not for ambushing.

At first I didn't like it but now I do as you know if you get it down it will go off even if you die. It makes Spec Ops more the role it should be and makes people play engi more.

Yeah the mistake we made here was using the C4 model hehe .. it's not C4 it's a SLAM. We just didn't get the model finished in time, but should be done soon.

I rather like the way it works now, fun to plant it on cars and what not, and even if you get killed they still go off, hoorah for ninjaing bases!
On a side note it can be used for ambushing, kinda, was with my squad in a car.. in a car chase hehe, was throwing Slams out the back to put the guys chasing us off, worked a treat!

Would be nice if you gave us some way to control the timer though, could you use the way you change firing modes to?

Not sure if that is possilbe within the BF2 engine but would be nice to have.

The old classic. I was playing last night on some server on Jabal. A Spec Ops (I'm guessing he didn't read the readme lol) thought it would be rather funny to plant C4 on the Littlebird on the carrier. Timed C4...
He asked why it was bleeping and everyone was holding back. I told him to go and have a look to see if the wire had come loose on the C4, and HE DID, just as it blew up in his face.
oh how I laughed

SLAMS are fun, but are far too weak. They are meant to destroy vehicles at the base/assets but it takes all 3 SLAMS to destroy an asset and 3 aren't enough to kill a tank. They should be powered up some so that one could at least destroy arty with one SLAM-I'm sure one down the barrel or the breech of a howitzer would incapacitate it with ease.

will fix the arty issue in a future release. intentional that it requires 3 to wreck radar (5 to wreck UAV). will take 2 to wreck an arty gun. not completely realistic, so gotta take a look at that .. but 1 spec ops guy taking out all the arty wihtout need of resupply ain't too good for gameplay.

Ooooh someone did something similar on the 50klicks server, only everyone seemed to think a beeping little bird was normal, so they fill it up with people who dont know any better! i dont think they will be using little birds again any time soon...
