Hello folks , I am wondering if anyone out there is feeling frustrated waiting for the BF2 1.5 patch. And please don't start with the "It'll be out when it's out" horse dung.

Dice have been fussing over this patch for long enough , how many beta's do you need to go through before you release a relatively small patch ?

Ok , 2 weeks for the first beta , then another 2 weeks for the next one...fair enough. But what is happening now ? Nothing , no word , no updates on what is happening.

I only care about Project Reality , and the release of the PR .86 patch.

What do you guys think ?

EA doing what it does best, pissing people off
Just be patient they will eventually produce this crappy patch.

well PR do about 6 betas per patch

and 1 GB isnt "a relatively small patch "

I wont go off in a rant about how much I hate EA but be thankfull that they actually released beta versions and are taking time to refine those rather than just releasing the first version without caring if it's full of bugs or issues etc...

1 GB ! Oh I didn't know it was that big. I saw a changelog , but I didn't think it was substantial , and only one map...not that I care about BF2 maps.

Come on DICEs swedish! xD some finnish humor of course evryones tired of waiting for it to show up!

Yeah true , but they have been working on this for many months now... or am I mistaken on that ?

Yes , but usually PR patches are huge. I thought the BF2 1.5 patch was going to be smaller than their other patches.

I guess I'm a little annoyed about the lack of info released from Dice lately.

Who knows maybe they'll actually fix bugs in their engine like regulatePitch not working and the glitch regarding dummy projectiles.

Probably not.

Fixing one thing breaks another....so say we all.

well bf2 is a dieing game...

mabey there working on all the stuff pr needs, i say lets stop talking about it, let them work on it, and they may give us 124 players per server=)

Number of beta versions is directly proportionate to the quality of the end product.

Some projects I've beta tested go to 70 or 80 for each update.

Not really, BF2142 died last year which is when EA/DiCE realized that Bf2 is still going strong, else they wouldn't have bothered with the 1.5 patch in the first place...

I actually forgot all about this patch until I saw this thread again. Don't bother to wait it, you will get eventually pissed

Btw: BF2 1.41 was released in November 2006 and we are still waiting for the second patch

FH2 was as well waiting for the 1.5 fix before the release of FH2 2.15

They got tired and released their update anyhow

Of course the majority of us PR players want 0.86 released now but lets take a step back and think about a positive.

With this extra time on their hands, the PR Dev Team has the oppitunity to add some tweaks and pieces to the 0.86 patch. ie More refined animations, improved limited kits code, etc. Aswell as further testing the builds to stomp out any bugs or gameplay faults.

Yeah good point there. I would also add that top grade mods like PR are keeping the BF2 engine alive.

I wonder if Battlefield Bad Company (for PC) will be modified by the PR development team ? I guess we'll see. BBC certainly looks good to me , what do you think ?
