as crazy as this could sound...

you all (or almost all of you) know that the Garry's mod team is getting paid by Valvenow for making their mod, wich in result, now costs money to get Garry's mod (version 11 and higher i think).
since you guys are now very well known throughout General gaming community, i have a strong advice to you guys, from the PR team:
dont get influenced by EA, its not the fact of having to pay money to get PR, its the fact that... if EA gets theyre own litle [censored] [censored] noses in your mod they will surely [censored] it up. same thing with RA3, and MULTIPLE OTHER games they involved themselves with.

Yes...find the EA spies, get a springer spaniel, stick their togers between 2 floury baps and yell "Dinner time Fido!"
Operation Winkle! To Winkle out the spies!
EA don't have any hold on PR apart from their engine limitations and unfortunate use of advertising.

Actually I think they should pay the Devs for advertising PR for their own profit (profit as in trying to lure interest into BF2 again)

I don't think there's any risk of that happening

I think the PR community is just too small for them to make any profit. Especially with ArmA 2 and OFP2 coming out.

I'd happily pay for PR in the future. Not to anything like EA though, but the Devs.

EA want to sell their new expensive games rather than have people buying outdated ones.

But since they are making a new update on BF2 they probably plan to advertise it as a major thing (like what was with UT3) and hence attempt to get some profit out of it all. And frankly there is no other way than advertising the most awarded BF2 mod to get the interest back prior to the new update.

Well if we get into this, motorola, camelback and other companies could pay the PR team for having thier names in the game.

Exactly why making EA pay for advertising BF2 is a bad idea.

Heh BlackSun dont worry, not much chance of that happening. EA dont seem particularly interested in any of the bf2 mod teams so I dont expect the golden handshake any time soon.
As for collaboration etc, Egg and the guys are very switched on and know what they are doing and will always have the aim of making the game they want rather than lots of money.

Motorola is commonly associated with cell phones. Cell phones are present in PR for Collaborator and Ambusher kits. So in the off-chance that Motorola contracted with PR, they'd want Motorola cell phones in the game.
That's what I'm getting from that post.
Sounds crazy, as you say, BlackSun, but anything could happen. However, I doubt the PR team would agree to have their baby sold and deformed into something less than the mod's goal -- what they want.

PR DEV phones up Motorola......
PR: Oh hai Motorola, were looking to get some cell phones sponsored in our game - are you interested?
Motorola: How will they be used?
PR: Theyll be strapped to 500lb bombs by terrorists, and then used to blow up coalition troops.
Motorola: Wow - thats just the kind of product placement we've been looking for - heres 50 billion dollars!
