Anyone here ever relaised how underused Knives are? Not on maps like Al elamein, but maps like oman and karkand they are really effective. If you manage to flank a squad while they are shooting at your men, you can take out quite a few men aslong as they dont see you. The enemy only here their men dying, and think they are being shot by your friends. Funny to see online.

Also, if your low on health and are being chased by Assualt for example, all you have to do is try and go round a corner, and 90% of the time, they chase you hugging the corner, so you click as they come round getting a 1 hit kill.

All sounds far fetched, but it does actually work.

PS. Dont run at snipers on open maps with your knife, this tactic goes pretty badly.

but seriously, they are underused cuase there aren't that many instances where that would be REALLY effective( it kinda has to).

Then of course there seems to be problems with the knife, like today i stabbed Round someone, was standing right behind someone on a fixed MG, stabbed at them, and i hit the wall on the other side of them, twice.

Eh, there's no glory in knifing cause the kill bar is gone.

Though I do it sometimes just for fun.

i use my knife only when needed, i do it when sneaking up on a player in prone position and i dont want to give myself away.

lol I misread that as in you got it in 1 round. Was asking myself 'how the hell did he get 89 kills with a knife in one round!?'

I usually love the knife, but compared to some other games, the knife in BF2 has something weird about it. I too have stabbed through someone, or had a knife fight that lasted way to long, someone should have already died. I spent a lot of time in vanilla BF2 servers that are called "pistols and knives only" and have had some of my best van. BF2 rounds there.
I really liked the way knives worked in FarCry. They were more machettes, but they worked well, espically for snipers.
