Recoil on deplyed LMGs...

Ok guys, im not sure if there was one thread about this (i did a quick search on the forum), but here it goes:
HOW COME the Deployed LMGs. have no recoil AT ALL??? i really think that it:
1st: Should have a steady up time (6 secs) --- I dont know if it already exists
2nd: Add a vertical recoil when firing it, once they are not mounted on any position and just lying on the ground by its bipod. Its just crazy to realize that you are trying to take down the enemy at 300 meters away with a m16 while he calmly deploys his LMG and make 100 rounds hit a one penny coin at any distance he wants.
just a suggestion, tho

well they do have a steady time, im sure of that, if you fire right after moving the bullets will hit the dirt right in front of you, but after 2-3 seconds you can put down pretty accurate fire

But still what OP is suggesting is increasing recoil or settle time. I support this, me and a buddy who spotted for me took out about 50 insurgents in a round. It'll be even easier with scoped LMGs and deployable in any stance

its ok, encourages proper LMG usage :> suppressing fire, etc.. you have to wait 6 secs for accurate fire, and if you move you must wait another 6 secs.
Its ok for me.

Until people stop trying to win a shoot out with a deployed LMG one on one they're not good enough imo.

I've fired a few machine guns on bipods. They push back. There is no muzzle climb. The gun is way too heavy to have muzzle climb.

Plus it's either resting on something for support or the bipods. No muzzle climb coming from that.

Indeed, there's a reason why people don't engage in firefights with LMGs in real life

Yeah the whole point is that they are feared weapons, that's they're intended role, they're designed to put out alot of firepower quickly and fairly accurately so people think "wow, I best not get in the way of that eh?" while someone else flanks them to open a can o' whoopass on them.

I agree when saying they have to be scared of it... but come one... HITTING THE SAME DAMN SPOT OVER AND OVER AGAIn (from my experience) sounds a little unrealistic... maybe at least a 1 meter spread from 100 meters, at LEast? (i cant confirm if that exists or not, correct me if im wrong)?

They aren't hitting the same spot over and over again. There is spread. Tracers from the third person perspective always travel on identical paths.

There is spread but not enough. I can fire the SAW deployed and fire all the god damn bullets in the freaken box nonstop without even letting go of the trigger and most of them hit the same damn spot. The deviation should be increased. That way you would have to fire small bursts. Increasing recoil doesn't seem to make sense when you got that bipod jammed into the ground.

Doesn't the barrel overheat like in vanilla?

Hm, I thought the point of the Bipod was to provide a stable firing platform, and keeping it on the ground...
Standing and firing is the point that is already good, but taking the upwards recoil from the Standing Mode and applying to prone-deployed mode...
Besides, the Automatic Rifleman is the biggest (and slowest) target you can probably hit. So, his Deployed mode makes up for being that.. I don't see anything wrong with it.
Besides, not every round travels in a straight line in deployed mode, you notice some of the rounds hit the ground in front of you.

At what range though?

Ner it was removed a few patches back. The whole overheated barrel thing is massively over exaggerated, only if weapons sustain fire for a ridiculously long time does this play into the equation, weapons like the MG42 had to change barrel a fair bit when they were really pushed because of their terrifying rate of fire (which was a little OTT obviously and this along with the barrel issue were two of the reasons for the MG34 being developed I seem to recall). I'm sure Bob can give a little more detail if he reads this.

It does overheat, however its capped high at around an average of 1-2 boxes of ammunition on continuous fire.

So basically you would be more likely to run out of ammunition than to have your barrel overheat and melt?

Just a short question to goguapsy: Have you ever fired a LMG, no matter if it was deployed or not?
(Before you ask me: I didn't. That's why I trust in the military advisors of PR.)

I fired, I dont remember what I was doing exactly, but I did, and it did hit the same spot...
but maybe I didnt fire it enough. I know that now (i think) they will put optics on LMGs, right? not sure about it, but then the lmg is goin to be totally unbalanced...
and 503, the bipod isnt jammed into the ground. its just laying on top of it, u know? the ones that are jammed (eg. main defense weapons or hmg in vehicles u might consider) are tottaly precise...

When I was playing korengal valley I was assigned to grab the LMG and when my squad leader told me to put covering fire while they ran over the field the bullets did not hit the same spot all the time even in deployed mode at 100-200 m. But im all up for increasing the deviation since the LMG is there to provide suppressing/covering fire while the Riflemans etc provide more accurate and deadly fire.

Aye ^^
