Why did the SpecOps loose the C4?

I was always excited about the SpecOps... (Special Forces in a Marines Uniform) about the C4. Getting a group of guys sneaking in and blowing up an objection. I really miss that. Never heard of these thing that you put down and they start blinking with a beeping sound... ok enemy start running now becuase its going to blow! Not sure if this is the correct way to go.

the enginner still has 1 big remote C4.... and a SLAM (timed C4) suits a spec-oops much better. like any one is going to hear a bleep unless they are right next to it, and if they are right next to it you should shoot/knife them first

Actualy 20m is quite far on the maps, considering this is outdoors you probably shouldnt here the bleep unless it is less than 5m away.

It's great cause if you get killed before had the time to detonate it, they will go off by them self
One thing shouldn't the engineer be able to defuse the C4?? If he has time before they go off. Pretty enoying just to watch them go off

I dout any 1 could defuse a SLAM in under 15secs....

I believe its the other way round:
Engineer - 1 SLAM
Spec Ops - Timed C4

ummm no. Timed C4 = SLAM
we (the devs) have named them timed C4 to make it eaiser for the public to understand while we are using the C4 model for them but we plan on replacing the C4 model with a SLAM model in the future.

One more question, does it demend on were you put the slam? should I try to place them on the tires or something like that???
One cool feutres for future release, would be if you could blow the tires away from an APC for example but he would still be alive and be able to fire his main gun.

Cool idea again the BF2 engine will probaly end up also killing this idea like it has many others.

I think it does matter where you put them - try it out in SP....put them underneat the tank..i.e. on under belly and it should take fewer

i was reading up on SLAMs and they are capable of destorying APCs from the side, and destroying tanks if you plant them on the under belly. but i havent tested how strong they are in game. ive never enjoyed the spec ops kit, cept in vanilla when i had my SCAR unlocked, i love that gun.

how many slams do you need to blow a UAV thingy? i used all of them and it was only smoking a bit.

I think the SLAMs should be given the power of C4s, or at least have the Spec Ops given another. Currently, only bridges can be destroyed by SLAMs, and it seems silly that you have to plant three seperate explosions just to destroy one target, or in many cases just damage it. One thing I love about them is that many times with regular C4 I'd plant my C4s and get shot before I could detonate. Now I plant them, they WILL explode, but normally it's to no big advantage, they'll just make a nice bang.
And as it's been suggested elsewhere, it'd be awesome if you could adjust the timer using the alt fire system. Sometimes you want it to be quick, sometimes you want it to be slow, it shouldn't have to be 15 seconds regardless. ;(

That is insane... it takes far too many SLAMs to do the work that they should be doing.
