Yet Another Collaborator Idea

This idea derives from the fact that it's hard to tell civilians and insurgents apart from distance and because some people don't want think before every single shot, they will shoot everything they see.

My proposed solution for this is: Make civilian collaborators appear on coalition's map and create intelligence reports of them. Map icon could be the same standing human profile as in kits, but its location would update only once or twice a minute. Its location should also be a bit inaccurate.

So whenever someone spawns as a civilian, then 30sec - 1min later coalition forces would see team wide message saying something like "Intelligence reports civilians have been spotted in the area" and a slowly updating civilian icon would appear on map. Most civilian related incidents (arrest and punishalbe kills) should also be reported publicly.

I think this would over time make everyone more aware of the special features of civilian kit and, hopefully, reduce both unnecessary kills and intentional cannonfodderism.

actually that ain't a bad idea, so the Collaborator's position would updat once ever 30 seconds, so coalition will know they are there, but wont know exactly which one

And you could use it to set ambushes too. Like this.

HQ-"We have confirmed the approximate location of an insurgent collaborator"

Me-"Aight lets go take this guy down! Hes at E5"

/squad gets shot up by 4 insurgents

this would make hideouts very easy to find.

I'm not a fan of the idea because of how it would mean insurgent squads shouldn't bring a healer, if they are so easy to find.

Alternative to the idea is for the icon to come up if civilian is killed. That would promote more realistic gameplay imo.

Marker should be delayed and inaccurate to some degree, so it wouldn't be that easy.

The first report will only show after 2 minutes and they must take out their med pack. Making insurgents think before they act.

Actually that would be a nice idea if it would be like "Intelligence reports there has armed insurgent been seen in the area!" and with more civilians then insurgents, but your way it would mean civilians in a city are something absolutely strange.

My hint for you is simple: Check what they are carrying:
  • A Stone: Possibly a civilian -> Let him go off
  • A Medkit: A civilian -> Let him go off
  • A Rifle: Not a civilian -> Rip him apart
This means: Don't look for the geometry of the kit but look at his loadout. If you can't see the model of the current equipment either: Look what his arms look like (If it looks like he carries a grenade it could also be a stone, but you will ALWAYS see whether it's a rifle or not!)

If it is a civilian and you can't be absolutely sure: Well then... That guy has to wait a loooooong time before he can confuse you again.

This. Not only that, civilians now can put their hands up. Civilians also do not have a headscarf thing.
People always complain that they get punished for shooting collaborators, yet the easy solution is "DONT SHOOT THEM"
