Fast download and install/patch of PR 0.874

Does not matter if you lose your internet connection during download. No need to worry about your modem packing up as you are downloading 3.2GBs of data, Your little dog turns off you PC and you only have 50% done.

No problem, Re-run the app and it will continue from where it left off.

That's fine too. "PR-Downloader" will only download the files you need. This means it will auto patch if you already have 0.86

This release will be even better for users of the "PR-Downloader". I Have managed to get a deal with "www.Gameupdates.org" to add extra fast seeder server boxes. This will mean that the bottle neck I had on the 1st release will be a non issues. Last time I had only 4 seeds seeding on small limited amounts of concurrent connections. This meant that I could only pipe out bandwidth to about 30 users at any one time. More then enough for normal usage. But with the rush of release day. I Just got over loaded. The 1st 30(ish) user got super fast downloads. And the rest had to wait in line.

This time around with the help of "www.Gameupdates.org" I Can beat that issue. They are a big games torrent site that specialise in torrents for all new games/mod/patch and the likes.

When ever I use them for a big download. It is always super fast.

I Highly recommend you check them out.

Please report you downloads speeds. Just so I can get a idea how you got on with it.

I Am seeing data that tells me there is a 9.59 MB/sec trough put going on right now.

Average download/install time on a 10mb line from Virgin ISP in the UK is 50 minutes for the Full Mod.

Finally, something that gives me some decent download speeds.

I tried the file hosts but they were either overseas and thus slow or in the US and broken ("410 - Gone" or the download would just abort at random times).

ok i DONT recommend this although its fast,

if you will have problem with installation as me you will have to redanload thous 3 GB and again better use normal torrent or other service.

Used this, worked a treat, very fast took me about 2hours of a 1mb Top's download speed to get the core and leves and start playing.

Is there anyway to know the download speed ? Right now Im using this metohod and around 30%.

There is no speedometer at this time. Maybe in the next release.

Yes, If you don't have ".NET framework 2" or above. Then PR 0.86 will not run. You need ".NET framework 2" to play PR now.

So I build the "PR-Downloader" to check to see if you have it. And if you don't, then it will install that also for you.

I had many problems with the download.

First, in ramiel and in kashan, when I clicked DEPLOY I had a CTD. Then, I tried to run the game on windowed to get the error, both worked, but there wasn't floor. All the earth was transparent.

I'm downloading the mod (again, 3 times already) from filefront.

Open your taskmanager (by rightclicking the startbar and selecting taskmanager or by pressing ctrl+shift esc) and hit the networking tab. As long as you aren't downloading anything else at the time that should give you a decent figure of what speeds you are getting.

oddsodz, i finally found this, and well, i have tried the patch with .856 installed, and it hasn't worked, i have DL .86 core and levels and installed and have had problems running the game so, I shall try this and if it doesn't work then i guess ill have to uninstall bf2, reinstall and see what happens or wait till .9 or something....thanks for putting this up!

I download all the installer files and my game is running normally. The PR downloader need some tweaks, I think.

There we go, finally at home and downloading the patch. Went really smooth at about 50-60Mbit/s, so lack of speed there sure isn't
