bassically, the title sais the problem when i try to get into PR. i have uninstalled and reinstalled just in case but no use. i have every file in the folder (confirmed by a friend over Xfire) and these are the command lines for the shortcut. Target: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" Start in: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr" i don't know what to do. please help, i wanna try the newest patch (and i just came from a percussion concert )

It's a long shot, but have you tried re-downloaded? You could've downloaded a slightly defected file. Try re-downloading off of a different host. Then if the patch file for you doesn't work try downloading the 'Core' and 'Levels' PR 0.86 files. Just a small suggestion.

i did that. i tried the patch first when i didn't reinstall PR, didn't work. uninstalled PR and got the full (now i had the full but the one for 0.85 and the patch of 0.86) for 0.86, still get the same problem

Whats actually happening?

right when i double click my pr icon (the 0.86 one) it sais- pr.exe has stopped workin

I know you said you checked all the files were there, but did you check they were in the right place? Also check the My Documents files too (I think they contain PR files). Other than that i can only suggest a full reinstall of BF2 and PR. If that wouldn't work then something is really wrong and i don't think I'd be able to help.

i tested my bf2, it works fine. just this is giving me trouble testing the new mod for myself >.<

Yes, but you may aswell try re-installing BF2 as it could be a problem deeper into your computer that could be related to PR. It wouldn't take too long to do it so it is worth a shot.

that means i would have to move all my mods (except PR) into another folder so i don't have to reinstall those. and plus i lost my SF code and idk if i can find my bf2 code

Well... That does complicate things a little. Well it may have to get to that stage, or you could just ditch the other mods. Lets face it, none of them would be quite as good as PR On the bright side doing what you suggested wouldn't take nearly as long as reformatting if it ever got to that stage.

not when my clan is situated around some of those mods...

Oh wow... This gets more and more complicated by the second. OK. If your clan is situated around some of these mods then you may still have the install files, that way you could happily just reinstall them. If not then jsut make a copy of your mods folder and reinstall BF2.

If all else fails then look up on other threads, I am sure I have seen this sam problem on here somewhere.

time to move all my mods onto my desktop and reinstall bf2. that's IF i can find my bf2 code (further edit) ok i found my bf2 code and my booster codes, just not my SF code (oh well) time to back up my mods and make sure when i install bf2 back i have everything i had it at (edit{AGAIN!?!?!}) lol i found my xpack thing, backing that up.

ok now this is bull. whenever i try to reinstall bf2, all it does is install the patch!!!!!! time to restore my comp. to an earlier point

sry for double post- Ok i got it to work right after reformatting my PC. you can lock it now.

hi there my version does the same thing and i have found a way around it that seems to work for me, simply right click on your ea downloader in the tray in the right hand corner and exit it, then start up project reality. I dont know why but when the EA downloader starts at boot up it doesnt let me play my game but once restting it it appears to work for me.

EDIT: After a reboot I got it launched, exited to try again and than bf2.exe game up with an error

FIX!!!!

FOLLOW THIS ORDER!!!

UNINSTALL PR

UNINSTALL BF2

REINSTALL BF2

INSTALL PR

INSTALL 1.41 PATCH!!

and yes PR b4 patch....

this worked for me...hope it fixes all your problems with this error xd!!
