need help here.
when you have a target in your cross hairs how do you ID friend or foe?
1] ive noticed at times the friendly tags don't always show. and its hard to make out uniforms.
2] Its time consuming to be checking maps for friendly locations, and by the time you have decided your target is the enemy they are long gone.
NEED HELP HOW TO ID faster.
be cool to have a list of PR uniforms

Indeed, hold your fire. It helps to check your map from time to time, even when you're not fighting, to keep tabs on where the friendlies are.

If the enemy didn't see you use your binoculars. If it saw you and shooting you, shoot back

Well, if applicable, you should try to Identify the camo the person is using (Each side has a unique one) and try to identify their main weapon. Looking at the face also works
But for armor and stuff, look at the model, not that hard :X
But, don't just start firing on them.

Its not really that hard to distinguish uniforms, you just need to pay attention. The biggest difference is the uniform color. US Army has lighter uniforms than the more desert colorered MEC. The Chinise are darker and more grey green whereas the Brits are more green green. The US Marines are a different kind of green as well.
Just recognize the distinct colors of the uniforms, and you won't have any problems.
Also, another tip:
Look at the weapon. If he is carrying an M4 and you are on MEC, he "might" be a bad guy, but this isn't always reliable as sometimes players will swap kits.
Also, look at the hair and head: MEC always has black hair, marines and army is either light hair or dark skin.
Insurgent and militia are easy to distinguish. Just ask, does he even have a uniform on?
Also, rule of thumb, if you dont know whether or not to shoot, then dont shoot. If you are so far away that you cant tell what side he is on, then its probably not worth your time to take him out because you'll probably miss and you WILL give away you and your whole squad's position. On the other hand, if he stays in your sights long enough for you to bring up the map and check if he is an enemy, then maybe he is a worthy target.

the best way to learn how to ID your enemy is to just keep playing and getting experience. at first i had some problems, but now that ive been playing for quite a while i can distinguish a friend from foe even from very far away. the different factions have distinct colors and shapes, even from a distance. what can you throw you off is when an enemy is wearing one of your kits, so its really best to make 100 percent sure you know what your shooting at. also, make sure to check your map. that will tell you if your about to lob a grenade at a friendly squad and get a massive tk.
just keep playing, youl get it its really not hard.

If I hover over a target and no name shows, I check the cardinal direction I am looking, I whip out the map, and if there is blufor over there, I hold fire. Things to check for are what weapon he is bearing, what the uniform is, whether or not he is around friendlies and not shooting their faces, whether or not he is shooting you.

And if you aren't sure, go SL and put a marker where they are. Check the map, and there you go.
