Ok lately whenever I launch PR or bf2 it crashes my whole computer, Pr worked fine 2 days ago i played .86 for awhile then the next day all the crashing started.
I've tried all the fixes I could find on these forums the EA forums and tactical gamers and none of them seem to be working for me
Here's a list of things I've done to avoid people posting fixes I've already tried
Uninstall/Reinstall.
DirectX
Graphic card drivers
.NET framework
Pr/bf2 - On different paths and HD's
Audio drivers
Windows updates
So now I'm completely stuck and I've never had problems before this the only things I did from the time i stopped playing to the start of crashing was installed Divx player and codec ( which ive uninstalled and the game still crashes) Video lan player, and Sim City 4 Deluxe (lol)
I don't get any error messages or anything it's just splash screen black screen weird sound then crash to restart
Specs: Intel p4 HT 2.8
2 gigs of ram
6800GT
audigy 2 zs
I've never had problems with this setup before so I'm pretty confused any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default res it crashes before it even loads the splash screen pops up it goes to the normal black screen before the intro movies and such but doesn't make it that far just crashes

hm thats a bit diffrent from mine, i got a bluse screen
to make a long story short i tried soooo many thing to try to fix it, it eventually led to the complete failure of my computer, the power supply is dead, my computer was 6 years old any ways so it was expected to die anytime soon any way
my advice is read tech help forums, and make sure you can undo what you do
good luck

Yeah I should have added that
All over games work, team fortress 2, command and conquer 3, arma, etc They all run solid fps no overheating noises no crashes its just pr/bf2
I changed a setting so it doesn't crash it blue screens and tells me the error it looks like it might be graphics card driver related im changing stuff now hopefully it works now

tell me what the error at the bottom says before it crashes..in bios before windows starts you can press a key and make it so it does not restrt when it blue screens, so it gives you a bit more time to read the error
if you have the same problem as me it might be a windows thing, i got it after a windows update, or it could be that you messed with your bios recently, did/get any of those?

Yeah it's def a windows update then cause it did an update the night before it stopped working
I tried uninstalling the .NET framework and reinstalling and that still did nothing
I'm gonna look into the updates it installed and try to uninstall them for find some solution for it

Update!
Okay so I fixed my problem by accident while fixing another problem
I recently had found out that i had a virus cleverly called SKYNET, apparently this virus is like a rootkit and likes to hide itself inside the windows/system32/drivers folder
After running Ccleaner, spybot, avast, and RootRepeal i was able to remove the virus I decided to try bf2 again since i had read that the virus also affects dvd burners and other programs associated with dvd drives.
So i decided to try bf2 again, low and behold it works
So if anybody else is having this issues i suggest trying these steps in this thread hopefully this will help some of the people having the same issues
