Parachuting?

Hey all, just a question about parachuting.
I know that Spec Ops have the parachute, but my questions to you are:
a) Which kits (apart from Spec Ops) can use a parachute?
b) In what situation can the kit soldier use it (i.e. - from the top of a building, when bailing from a chopper, etc.)
c) Is the pilot of a chopper (eg. Little Bird) equipped with a parachute, for emergency situations?
Cheers.

I suggested all sky bound vehicle having 'chutes a while back. Don't think it was possible to implement unfortunately.

i had the idea of making the chute like a weapon so that a plane could re-equip it when you get in but you can only ever have one so if you bail you have one. but then you would have to bash 9 and then click

not sure wether that would catch on

I think it is good that not all units have them, and it forces the choppers to land. If units wish to air drop they can go SPEC OPS.

Here is how you parachute a non spec ops...
You all get in a chopper having 2 medics and 2 spec ops and lets say a assualt and support. The spec ops jump out first then everyone else follows falling to there death. The spec ops land and pick up the medic kits and revive everyone making a whole squad able to jump outa a blackhawk.

I was suprised to see only SpecOP had them. IMO they are vital to snipers and even MORE realistic for this class. In real life snipers are often drop zoned by fly overs in remote locations. In-game, they can be dropped in remote locations (like SpecOp attacking UAV etc.) or on tall buildings.
One thing that should happen is that parachutes should have the height for use (the trigger) scaled up. This way it cant be used for short drops like a building or a ledge. It might only be used for extreme heights like a water tower or crane. Perhaps it can be coded so that you can only use it when exiting a heli. Either way, this would make it more realistic yet still let fly over insertions for a few classes happen.

They aren't gonna be air dropped by little birds or black hawks. If you put a C130 in game, maybe I'd agree.

I agree that this is an awful exploit. However to prevent this, if possible, you could alter the fall damage, to cause instant death when bailing out of chopper, instead of the revivable state "You are critically wounded".

Yes. Jinx's idea is great for two reasons:
1: Stops people exploiting this.
2: If you're stupid enough to jump out of a helicopter without a parachute, you deserve to wait 30 seconds to play again.

Lol... I dont use that exploit... but its SOOO funny to watch people do it!
I think I wanna make a video of people just jumping out of helicopters and smackin the ground. I think its the funniest thing ever.

It's pretty logical people see it and will do it also ...
I think they should add an instant death fall when you drop from shopper.
Also parachuting of smaller buildings isn't very realistic I think ... However since there is no grapling hook or anything else available ...

Good idea my point tho.
make it as a weapon or utility that you toggel with lets say 9 and when you press firebutton it opens the parachut.. it should have a needed drop height to work lets say 70+ meters if under that it wont work. 1 ammo but you can resupply it if your inside a plane/chopper for more then 1 minute..

Haven't anyone heard of Base Jumping.

People are talking about parachuting off one storey buildings. BASE is from skyscrapers and such.
