Small Map Night.

On Friday there will be a PR Mumble 0.5 release stress test.

To coincide with this and to show off Mumbles full potential to new Mumble users, the Reality Teamwork Mumble Server, will be hosting a passworded small map night on Friday. It will mainly be skirmish layers, but some of the smaller maps such as Asad and Bi Ming will be played at their full size.

The small map sizes should make the benefits of Mumble much more apparent, as you are likely to be fighting close to other squads. Also due to all the maps on Friday, being infantry maps, we are hoping all the squads will be working together.

PS. If the small map night is a success, then it may become a permanent fixture, every Friday.

Some people have mentioned that this clashes with the R-COM scenario event. The idea behind the stress test is to get as many people on the PR Mumble server as possible, so we can try to break it.

The small map night will be a very different style of play to the R-COM event, so the plan was that RT may attract those players who are not tempted by/cannot join the R-COM event.

I presume many will join the R-COM event, but Im kind of hoping that Mumble 0.5 will tempt many new people to download it, and give it a try, so that we can get as many people as possible on the server for the stress test.

Yep ... servers will fill up fast we hope ... so the idea is to have plenty of free space to be filled. The more the merrier you mumble junkies !!!

Just so you are aware Space, theirs currently a few problems with the Skirmish maps, i don't believe it's all of them, but you may want to take a look at them prior to the event to make sure it's going to work okay.

Yeah cheers - Ive not tested them all, but Im sure that some have no problems - we'll test them out before the Friday. The night will also use some 32 player layers, and also all the 1km maps in their full size.

If any of you guys are new to mumble, try to set it up and test it prior to Friday. The RT server always has plenty of mumblers on it, so come and join us anytime

I'll try to be there. Seems like a lot of interest, probably be pretty hard to get on later in the day

It will mainly be smaller layers and the small maps - there will be quite alot of variation though

Very cool event there everyone mumbling and killing each others on skirmish must be epic!
