PR Mumble 0.5 Beta Release

Mumble is an audio communication program that works externally from BF2. It allows users to communicate within the battlefield, with the sound volume and position being relative to your location on the Battlefield. It also allows people from other teams to communicate with one another, so long as they are within a certain distance.

The Mumble developer team and Project Reality team have been hard at work creating the next instalment of the Mumble client. After much testing, the time has come to do what is called a "stress test". Much like, say, cold weather testing on a car, we try and attempt to push mumble to it's limits, and see how well it can cope under serious strain.

To achieve this we need your help.

On Friday 3rd July there will be three or four mumble events held which are available to any members of the community, or general PR players. The idea is to try and fill the PR mumble server to bursting point, to establish whether the current client can cope with the stress of sending and recieving large amounts of data.

Below are links to the mumble beta client.

Hello,

I would like to know if there auto team-switching in channels has been enabled, or if one has still to switch the team channel manually.

Regards,

What does Client now keyed to server mean?

It means you cant use vanilla mumble to join the server. You have to use the PR version with the settings fixed.

Thanks for the update!

I see in the changelog that the G15 helper is back - how do you enable it? I can't find anything in the options? The helper exe is in the install directory but the PR mumble apparently isn't running it since it doens't show in my g15 app list.

Same thing happened to me with the 0.4 build. I could only change settings when I wasn't connected to the Mumble server. Try that.

Sweet. Tried it out the first time this night and it was fun. But how does the G15 plugin work? Should I be able to choose the Mumble-plugin from the programs list in the "LCD Manager"? Or do I have to select it in Mumble?

Yea, I can't figure it out either - It'd be great to have it working.
