PR freezing up lag

Hey. I get lag in PR, but it's not the normal kind. It's not FPS lag because I get 60 FPS most of the time, so i dont think it's related to settings. I basically get 2-4 freeze ups that last for around a millisecond/ second each when I start up a round of PR. This isn't much, but it gets really annoying. Help?
I don't think my specs have anything to do with this but:
Vista 32 bit
Intel Duo Core 2.66 ghz
3 gigs of RAM
8800GTS 320 MB
plenty of hard drive space
Ive tried deleted cache files
My pagefile is big enough. (2x size of physical RAM)
