Is there any sniper that can shoot threw an heli window or something like that?

In .85 the Lee-Enfield sniper definitely penetrated the window of the Transport Huey.

Not sure about .86

The transport Huey's windows have always been penetrable. I remember I shot down like five Hueys way back in .809 with the mounted SAW at West Beach on Jabal.

Most helicopters' windows are not penetrable. Why are you shooting helicopters with sniper rifles anyways?

well if you manage to do it thats definatly awesome

9 out of 10 times you wont tough so its not worth spendign time and ammo on,plus revealing your position

Yes but if an helicopter spotted you and u wanna take down the pilot, the helicopter is coming exectly in your way so why dont you take the chance?
By the way I wanna ask something, where do I get sniper rifle because I saw they when you spawn you dont get a sniper rifle, in the class choise you cant choose a sniper rifle only regualr rifle so somebody can tell me please where can I find a sniper rifle?

You need to be in a squad and request it from a crate. If ur taliban you can request it from a cache. If ur insurgent you can get it from the main if nobody else took it.

if a helicopter lands and your a sniper with a large calibre weapon, i would certainly go for the pilot and unless the glass is bulletproof that is a very worthy target to leave behind and get the tanks to clean up

The attack huey is penetrable too. I once shot the pilot out of one with the chinese AR in .856.

I regularly down the Huey's on Barracuda with the MG's. I wonder if it's supposed to be like that IRL?

Anyways, to answer the OP: There are no .50 caliber precision rifles in the game. Also, a weapon is not a "sniper".

Once when I was playing on Barracuda as Chinese, an Attack Huey landed on the beach for some reason. (not really sure why...)
The two squads nearby opened up on him with their rifles, and the Pilot was killed by small-arms fire.
So appearantly, even the small-caliber bullets can go through glass.

ah, it was always so much fun shooting down hovering choppers in vbf2. especially if you had the pilots on teamspeak XD

I can never get through the glass plating on the chopper or there armour using small calibre’s and it usually pretty pointless to do so. Though i admit i do it any way just because it so bloody fun.

Though i think i beat all of you, i once brought down a black hawk in flight using C4 on kashan desert around north gate on the bunker complexes. Beat that

Well I don't know if you'd classify this as a Sniper... But yesterday on RT Mumble, on jabal as MEC, I shot an incoming chopper pilot with my pistol to the point he crashed landed because of the bleeding.

A lot of lulz, seeing how they totally NOT expected us to be there, not even to fail against that lil' pistol o' mine

i once saw a sniper take out the pilot of a Mil Mi 8/17 on Kashan

though i'm not sure if he shot him through the glas of the cockpit or through the open sidedoor in the back of his head.

And any caliber will go through the open bits in the sides of a littlebird.

I don't think any of the conventional factions have rifles chambered in rounds capable of punching through the armored glass (it is armored, isn't it? for things like bird strikes or whatever?) in a helo cockpit.

Actually now that I've thought of it, I've never seen or heard of anyone getting shot out of a helo cockpit while flying in PR (besides littlebirds of course. And getting the cargo bay lat'd, splash will do some nasty things.), I was under the assumption that the bf2 engine protected the pilots from every bullet smaller than the .50, as in the Barret or the turret on a jeep. (I know normal assault rifle fire and whatnot can bring the CHOPPER down, but the pilot doesn't usually get killed by fire.
