Question about server file and the client file?

the download area has two files, server and client.

But I am not sure which one should I go with? If I want to play single user game, which one should I go? What's server file for?

client is all you need for online and single player server is only for hosting servers. Also single player on works on VBF2 maps.

you mean it works with vbf2?
what does vbf2 stands for?

vanilla battlefield 2 and no it doesn't work with VBF2 the VFB2 maps such as Gulf Of Oman are the only ones that work in SP any other maps such as some of the custom ones don't work in PR due to no nev mashes for the AI bots.

To clarify a bit:

You need only the client files. They can be used for anything.
The server files are ONLY for dedicated servers - you won't be able to run bf2 using these.
You'll only have a limited selection of maps for single player - mainly the normal BF2 ones.

Vanilla BF2 is another way of saying normal BF2 - it's the basic 'flavour'

Surely completely non-tasting ice cream would be basic... literally..ice and cream?
