I've noticed since .86 that if i grab an infantry kit (Marksman, LAT, Grenadier) and die with it, i can no longer spawn and grab another one because even though nobody in my squad now has it, it says Unavailable due to squad limitations.

Anybody figured out how this works yet? Why theres squad limitations on a kit no one in your squad has?

I pretty sure theirs a time limit on it untill it's avaliable agaion

Maybe the enemy nicked off with it or a player not from your squad picked it up. Maybe you can't get another1 until it is returned to the pool ? I am not entirely sure how it works.

I believe you have to wait 5-10 minutes before the kit returns to the "pool" of available kits. This is also written in the manual which you should read

Yeah, but shouldn't you be able to request another one of the same type anyway? Just because 1 grenadier kit is lost it shouldn't mean that the other 2 are unavailable.

Maybe another one of your team grabbed it the second GL kit.

Yes, but if that would mean all the kits are now unavailable, shouldn't it say that then instead of "unavailable due squad limitations"

I couldn't get medic-kit due to squad limitations once, but nobody had it. It became available after some time.

Than one guy probably has it selected but picked up another kit.

I've had times at the beginning of the round where no one in my squad can select the medic kit even though the round just started.

Maybe just a kink that needs to be worked out, but it did not happen in .85

If someone gets a requestable kit and leaves the squad, no one in the original squad can get that kit until the guy that left dies and respawns.

I don't think its a bug. Just wait five minutes and make sure nobody else grabs the kit.

I know how the kit system works, but it says "Unavailable DUE TO SQUAD LIMITATIONS" not "All these kits have been issued." So the reason i cant get another kit is due to something in the Squad, not the availability of the kit.

Pretty sure its the same as in the last version. "Unavailable Due to Squad Limitations" seems to be a correct statement, just your squads kit is now floating around outside your squads hands and the limitation isn't going to be lifted until it is returned, I guess.
