How to use the .86 RPG

I love using the RPG. If you're lucky, you can sometimes kill off a whole squad or take down an APC. But thats the problem... if you're lucky...

So, I know about the four second deviation, but what else should I know about the RPG? Basically, what are your tips on the best way to use the RPG kit? For example, what range is the RPG sights zeroed? I'm guessing its somewhere inside 150m but I'm not sure. I always seem to either over or undershoot. Also, how good is it as an anti personnel weapon? Whats the radius that it will actually damage or kill clustered infantry?

Anyways, please feel free to share your tips and tricks when using the RPG, cause I'd love to get better with this awesome weapon.

no its not a bug...the splash damage was decreased so the rpg has become pretty useless agaist inf, so i would advise against engaging bleufor inf without any support and try focusing on amor

I would say the RPG is the easiest to shoot out of all the LATs.
I usually hit by guessing the rocket drop. Just get some training and make yourself familiar with it.
And yes, i think too that the devs could increase the damage a bit. Last time on Karbala i hit an passing humvee in the back and it continued driving, like nothing happened.

I think its zeroed ar 200m or so,

its 7 seconds I think for accuacy, at that point its pretty accurate

its explosive radius is aboslutely ****, so only target vehicles.

The accuracy is alright since RPG-7 generally isn't that accurate at all. But the damage to infantry is ****.

Is that realistic?

I can top that one. A guy is laying with the HK-21 ( mec-lmg ) on the hotelroof on muttrah and he is spraying like hell all over the city. So i climp my way up there and sneaked behind him. Hit prone. Laid down and started crawling towards him. Until im lying on top of he´s legs and stabbed two hits against hes "backpart". No hits. Instead i get killed from him when he started shooting down towards the city again.. Like the medic bug.

Im like. Yeah.. I should have recorded that one :?

Anyway I really hope that one was a Hitbox bug. Cause if it wasnt there is a real malfunction in this patch. RPG is being used to target everthing. Soldiers. Apc, tanks alot.
The splash-damage from a rpg should wound a marine within 3 meters. At least in REALITY...

But i think the rpg has an close-range-limit in this game. I also noticed it. At least it feels like it.

A nearby hit should be deadly. Just think of the explosion and all the fragments.

The whole thing about RPGs not being able to effectively kill infantry really bugs me, because lets face it, the RPG is NOT an anti armor weapon!! It is an anti PERSONNEL weapon. Hence why it is an RPG, Rocket Propelled Grenade, not a RPAT, Rocket Propelled Anti Tank...

RPGs should first and foremost be able to decimate close quarters infantry squads, just like a Rocket Propelled GRENADE should be able to do. Then, secondly, it should be able to take out HMMVs and APCs, which I think it does well enough. The anti vehicle part is balanced, it just needs to kill infantry a little easier. As it is now, BLUFOR troops see an RPG and its like "Oh, he's got an RPG so that means he is combat ineffective since he cant hit or damage us. Don't worry about him, shoot the other guys". What it SHOULD be, and what it was a little bit in .85 is "Oh $h1t, hit the dirt! RPG on that roof, its gonna tear us a new one!"

pучной противотанковый гранатомёт = Anti Tank Grenadelauncher
But again, its too ineffective against Infantry.

You need to stop talking right now. You're making yourself look more and more idiotic with every post.

His logic is stupid, but the point he's trying to make is valid.

Just aim the RPG "AT" the person you are targeting, works fine with me ;)

and yeah the splash damage could have been like in 0.85 :P

and tip for RPGers Stay away from infantry fighting, just hide until you get reports of vehicles like Humvee's/APC's, works just fine. just keep you heads down. there is a reason why the RPG kit doesn't have a Rifle :)

Just give the poor RPG insurgent atleast one frag warhead. Maybe make it something like 2 AT and 2 frag. Idk. But something has to be done. The way it is now is just sad and frustrating.

Put it back to the 4 second deviation time instead of this whole 7 second deal...7 seconds is too long when it comes to fighting.

Seriously, nobody stands still for 7 seconds in an active battlefield.

exactly.

Get behind something, go crouch for 7 seconds

stand, fire, get down

I think, stand up outside of cover for whatever seconds is generally the inferior tactic.

True, but 7 seconds is an exaggerated settle time. PR is gradually turning into the 'waiting game' because of changes like these.
