A surefire way to revitalize your PR experience

Blasphemy Incoming!

Sometimes it just happens...but I get a little bored of PR. However, there's one things that always seems to cure that in no time flat...

Play some vBF2

Seriously, I played one round on Wake Island (wouldn't touch Strike at Karkand with a 1000 foot poll :roll :) . Wake Island was just starting and it was both infuriating slightly humorous at the same time. There was the mad dash for vehicles (which is still existent in PR somewhat) at the beginning...followed by a sniper TK for the jet...and that followed by a c4 bombing of the jet which claimed 5 more lives (which included the attack helicopter).

During this time I was trying to get a squad together (mistakenly trying to request a SL kit) so I wasn't near any vehicle. To my expectations, I was unable to get a squad going so I simply joined another. I was able to spawn on the SL as a medic (haven't done that in a while) and quickly moved to him. The rest of the squad was in practically every corner of the map, so it was just me and the SL. We were soon spammed by a wall of grenades and attack helicopter fire. After we respawned, the SL was blown up again by a grenade and I was able to revive him and stayed in that spot trying to heal him....forgetting that the magic paddles were in effect in vBF2, so we ate another round of attack helicopter rounds.

We then managed to spawn in the airfield with 1 other blue player whom apparently capped the entire area alone (again another odd experience coming from PR)...this was soon rewarded by the enemy commander spamming arty attacks on the base using the commander hack  . After that barrage I spawned back on the carrier and was soon staring in the inside of a J-10 that had rammed the deck while the player spamming several messages to the tune of "LOL I KILLED 5 OF YOU IN ONE HIT, HAHAHA YOU ALL SUCK US TEAM!"

This was soon followed by the disconnection from the server and the closing of vBF2 and the launching of PR.

So in short, if you ever start feeling a little bored of PR....load up vBF2, you be back on Muttrah City with new vigor for PR in no time.

Yeah I think all of us have somewhat forgotten what brought us to PR in the first place.

I recently did this on the same map.
As i exited out of bf2 i was worried PR wouldnt accept me and would not start but PR forgave me and allowed me to play. I then continued to say "thank you" to my monitor numerous times.

I played some vBF2 and formed an armor squad on Shongua Stalemate. We worked together to capture all the flags. A great demonstration of teamwork.

If a passing Moderator would be so kind ;)

i installed PR and never looked back. even the 3-4 months after the 0.8 release which i found my PC was unable to play on low settings so i stopped gaming all together. when i downloaded PR i promised myself i would never touch vanilla ever again.

i'd MUCH rather play the BF1942 multiplayer demo (which in all honesty is the best thing i've ever played next to PR)

I recently took a short two or three week break from PR, and played 2142 in a silly manner. Depending on my mood, I'd either use the Engineer AT guided rockets on any infantry I went up against or as Recon, activate invisibility to get behind enemy lines and knife as many enemies as I could before dying.

You can't get that type of fun from PR. :p But that break did make the brand of fun PR offers greater.

Once in a while I don't feel like playing all tactical and such so I will load up vBF2, begin to load a server and then think to myself "wait...why am i doing this again?" and proceed to close the game and open PR.

Its weird, sometimes i get an urge to play vBF2 but then as soon as i open it it just brings back the memories of the game and it just is not worth it, haha.

I usually play counter strike or guild wars when im not in a PR mood.

I also tried to play vBF2 wake island yesterday and the lack of teamwork and the constant fragfest that was going on made me crazy...at one time i thought a medic was on his way to DD resuscitate me as he approach really fast...my bad i thought as i saw him fly by in a fighter jet.

I Must admit to having a "Flutter" every week or so on vBF2. I Just can't help my self. I Get in an F-35B and wait to be called a hack for killing J-10s all round long. You just can't beat a 3 start Gen going nuts because he can't kill you in your puny F-35B with his super-leet J-10. I Just love it.
