OK, Just installed BF2 and patched 1.41. The Game runs fine. Installed PR v0.86 Core no problem. I try to Install PR v0.86 Levels BIG PROBLEM. Here is the message I get.

"This setup requires Project Reality v0.86 core to be installed. Do you want to go to the downloads page now?" YES or NO.

I can start PR just fine but there is no levels and BF2 runs fine. This machine has never had BF2 on it. UAC is off. I'm running as administrator. I've tried other downloads from different sites. NO LUCK.

Is there a levels download without the installer? Can I install them manually?

ok, are you sure your downloaded PR CORE .86 and not the .85 to .86 Patcher?

Here is the file I installed.

PR_0860_core_setup 1.77GB

Which Mirror did you download this from?

PR will start up with no problem. There is no levels.

I just looked at the main screen and in the lower left side there is a version number.

PR v0.860

Here is my install path. This might help. The installer program seems to pick the right location.

C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr

I got levels to install. Here are the steps it took to install.

1) Uninstalled PR
2) Uninstalled BF2
3) Removed EA Games folder for Program files(x86)
4) Run Ccleaner cleaned up reg.
5) Rebooted
6) Reinstalled BF2 - Custom install to C:\BF2
7) Installed BF2 Patch 1.41
8.) Installed PR v0.86
9) Installed Levels

No Problem so far.

Ah thats good, sorry on not posting mate, Im uk based so the time difference and all.

Sounds like it was a registry conflict of some sort.
