Hello, Every time I play no matter what I have tried I keep getting the message
"There Is A Problem With Your Connection"
Firstly:I have Re-installed Punkbuster and Apparently its up to date.
Secondly: I have disabled my Windows Firewall (I have Kaspersky Antivirus with all files needed given exceptions)
Thirdly:I have turned off my Router Firewall and my NAT is Open.
Fourth:I have used TCP optimizer and my ping in game varys from 36 to 51
Fifth:I have deleted the files that was in a thread I found on this forum
Sixth:I have turned off EAX and VOIP and it doesnt make a difference
I am using a Zyxel Prestige 600 Series DSL wireless router.
I am wondering would port forwarding help or is it actually my connection or my slow computer loading speed?
System Specs:
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Service Pack 2
Hewlett Packard-Compaq Presario
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
960MB RAM(9MB Virtual Memory)
Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE
Thanks

I'd say its a combination of poor internet speed and it also being wireless, which is bad for gaming, especially on a 2 mb connection.
Is their no way to hard wire it to the router via Ethernet, or are you too far away?

Well the Router is the other side of my Kitchen and its plugged in to the phone line adapter, but is it possible for me to actually move the router over towards my computer and plug in the Ethernet and still have a connection, seen as there is no phone adapter at my computer?

Better use long ethernet cable than long phone cable. Ethernet is designed for that.

Cheers Mate, Yeah well I tried earlier with a small Ethernet and my Router wasn't connected to a phone line and it was a horrible disaster, so Yeah I will invest in a long Ethernet..
Thanks for the help

Get wired for gaming for sure!
Your ping on the posted test is 167 Ms to a server only 100 mi away. Sounds very high.If ping in game varys from 36 to 51 I'd bet it wasn't consistent, the spike is what trips the disconnect. I think PB-B is what does it. Have you tried:
Typing this line in your in the BF2 console (default ~) when you join a server: pb_sleep 500
More information about pb_sleep command found here:
Punkbuster BF2 Information
Port Forwarding just lets you open ports for selected PCs or an ip address range on your network. If it's just you and other gamers on your network then it's not going to be a problem to have the ports open for everyone. However if your parents use the network then I would suggest doing it( opening ports only for the gaming PCs on the network) for the added security. The hide you save could be your own.
Make sure these ports are open on your router (my router 'D-link Gamers lounge' auto opens these ports for BF2)
TCP
80,
4711,
29900,
29901,
29920,
28910
44301
45301
UDP
1500 - 4999,
16567,
27900,
29900,
29910,
27901,
44301,
45301,
55123,
55124,
55215
Not sure what ports (TCP/UDP)
port for PnkBstrA =
44301
port for PnkBstrB =
45301
should be, so opened for both
Good luck

Thanks very much, yes I think I may invest in a wired connection in the near future
I'll also try and open those ports see if it does anything,
Thanks for the help

Meh @ opening all those ports....., Most routers worth their salt nowadays dont need a whole plethera of ports opening ( unless your running a server ) as they automatically let replies to outgoing requests through and mostly see them as secure, it varies from router to router though. For instance i dont open ANY ports on my router firewall rules and everything works just fine n dandy, never get connection problems EVER, however i use ethernet cabling, wireless can be so hit n miss.
Id check your wireless settings "windows wireless zero" config is usually to blame for dropouts. If you must game wirelessly get a dedicated card rather than a wireless dongle always use a dedicated mode ie: G Mode never mixed mode.
However like what was said before get wired, its much better all round.
