WIDESCREEN CTD problem

Hi crew,
I just purchased a 23.6 inch acer monitor and now PR will NOT WORK and just CTD.
Yes, I have read and tried all the other threads fixes for CTD with Widescreen.
Have I said I have tried everything? !!!! I have loaded 1.32 widescreen fix to 16:9.
I have tried every modification under the sun to the Target:
This is mine;
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1080
I have tried +widescreen 1 and nothing works. It just loads the initial screen and then goes black and CTD. I really love my new monitor and don't want to switch back to my old 17inch just to play PR.
PLEASE HELP.

usually its the frequency that is not set correctly (its still set to the old monitor's)
2 ways:
1. start bf2/pr with no parameters, go to options and set to a resolution using 60hz
or
2. manually change your the frequency in Video.con: VideoSettings.setResolution 800x600@60Hz

BAH didn't work. This is my video.com setup which is in bf2/local/profiles
rem Optimal setting for CPU > 1400 MHZ
game.setGameDisplayMode 800 600 60 0
game.setDetailTexture 1
game.setShadows 1
game.setEnvironmentMapping 1
game.setGraphicsQuality 1
game.setLightmaps 1
game.setRenderWhenSpawnMenu 1
game.setMenuViewdistance 100
game.setEffectsQuality 1
game.setPerformance 3
Is that right and how should that cross corelate to the ;
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 800 +szy 600
oh and I tried with no + parameters and that still didn't work. I have widescreen fixer 1.32 loaded when I try this.
Is that right cause it loads to a startup screen for PR then goes black and sits there for 2 secs and CTD.

i am thinking you might have changed the wrong file...
you have to change the "video.con" in your current accounts folder. that is in the "profiles"-folder a folder like "0001" there you will find some more ".con" files also the "video.con"
your short cut looks ok, you do not need widescreen fixer when running in 800x600 (which should only be a temporary resolution to get this problem fixed)
widescreen fixer has to be activated by pressing ";" - you can start it when ever you want there is no particular order
if you do not mind resetting your keys you can also just delete the contents of the profiles folder (but please back it up just to make sure). bf2 should create new default files and you will have to "retrieve" your old account
please also try starting normal bf2 and see if it works

No love
Neither BF2 nor PR work at all.
I have modified ALL video.con files in the BF2 directory and subdirectory and all contain;
game.setGameDisplayMode 800 600 60 0
game.setDetailTexture 1
game.setShadows 1
game.setEnvironmentMapping 1
game.setGraphicsQuality 1
game.setLightmaps 1
game.setRenderWhenSpawnMenu 1
game.setMenuViewdistance 100
game.setEffectsQuality 1
game.setPerformance 3
I am running 1.32 widescreen fix in the background (the ; key dosn't seem to do anything) and I'm setting it at 16:9.
I have the following target:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 800 +szy 600
That didn't work. I deleted the +fullscreen 1 +szx 800 +szy 600 to no avail.
I tried Bf2 with no mods and that didn't work either. I'm at my wits end, and I'm supposedly good with computers!
Please help Sniper, your my only hope! (ala Princess Leia)

RELAX! I have fixed it.
I tried to run it in windows mode and it told me that there was a file on the CD that was allocated to 75hz. Hmmm I thought. So I refitted my OLD monitor, ran the game, set the resolution to 800 X 600 and 60 hz. Put the new monitor back on and put it in 800 X 600 then loaded the game. Reset the resolution to the highest and now it works.
Ok now do I dare try to up that to 1920 X 1080. Hmmmmm.
Thanks for the help sniper you pointed me in the right direction at least..
Cheers, now back on the crack of PR.
