So, I've been playing PRSP with the S*itastic A-10 for a while, and I've been trying to learn the AGM-65 Maverick, but I haven't been able to take anything out with it.

They lock onto lazes, which bots will not use or send. To try them out, you'll need a second player to help you. It's all detailed in the manual, BTW.

best join a kashan training server. there's always some dude on the hill lazing some targets in the bunker area. if not, just spam team-chat with lase-requests, somebody's going to lase something sooner or later (:
The others are right, to use the AGM-65 you will need to have a person with a laser designator on the ground that has a target locked on. Also try it out in the training to get the feeling of how it will go, but remeber to have a buddy or a teamate (which will sometimes be your buddy) use laser designators.

i didn't quite get how the bomb-guiding thing ("gps guided bomb" in the video) worked. can a bomb also lock on a target after it was lased? or is it just the commander setting a marker and the pilot being a good shot?

It can lock on any laser box, though if you are over ~1000 meters from it you wont get the lock tone, but the bomb will lock in flight from as far as 2000 meters high even.

So its really only PRMP, I guess they're useless then, I haven't bothered fixing my crash issue with PRMP.

yes, or if you can muster up a friend to play coop it's still possible, but unfortunately bots don't ever laze or deliver ordnances on lazes.
