Seriously, you need to sort your admins out. 5 min ago i loaded up Barracuda and wanted to use the attack Huey for a bit. At 1:28 or something i made the squad "CAS Huey2" since there was another Huey squad with 6 people in it (!). I spawned, got to the chopper and started waiting for the warmup time. Then all of a sudden i got kicked for "I told you to get out".

Don't you think that its a bit childish to kick people for assets...?

From the rule link:

4. Assets

Squads with an asset name have priority for that asset. Duplicated asset squads are not allowed, and anyone creating them, will be asked to disband their squad immediately to prevent more players from joining it.

You were probably told to disband the squad and get out of the helicopter, and failing to comply were kicked.

The reason we have rules like that is for better asset regulation. What gives you more right to the huey than any other two players that have already made a squad? If there was a problem with the current Attack Huey squad, then you could have easily notified any admins of it. If you do have any comments about our rules, such as feedback or suggestions, you can bring them up on our forums.

They could just have asked me to join the other CAS squad. There was one warning before but i didn't see what it said since there was something obscuring the text after "WARNING". They made the squad at the same time as i did, i even asked Pleym (one of the admins) if i were allowed to lock my squad, he said yes.

Thats a perfect example of why we have the rule Kirra - the fact that there were 6 CAS Huey pilots is bad enough, but to then create a "CAS Huey 2" squad is nuts. The whole idea behind the rule is so that heli maps dont have half the team as pilots. No doubt after you were kicked, the first CAS squad was ordered to kick 4 of its pilots.

Our Asset rule isnt perfect, and it can cause problems, but in our opinion, it is the "least worst" option.

Fantastic server. If the server stays and continues to have such a strong community, I'm sure it will be one of the most popular servers that PR will ever see.

I support the admins to stay "strict." For example, I was just recently kicked for not being on mumble when infact I was. I was not in the SL leader channel. Now I know and will never forget to jump in the SL channel when I'm a leader. I havnt seen any pointless arguments between players and the admins that I sometimes see in other servers, but when I jumped back on, I asked for a team switch back to my squad and was put back to my team in a matter of seconds.

Look. I made the squad like 3 sec after they made their, my squad was locked so their squad filled up in matter of seconds. I saw a "WARNING KIRRA...." on the top of my screen but couldn't read the rest since there was something on top of my screen blocking it (a part of the spawn screen i guess). I asked "What?" in the chat but got no reply. After that i was kicked after getting inside the Huey.

To me, that is kicking for assets as they could have easily kicked someone who were not flying from their squad and invited me. But did they do it, or even think about it? Nope.

I just find that pretty childish and a little bit sad.

Some fun games tonight, played barracuda and asad khali on the EU, followed by fallujah on the US. Still quite new to using mumble, but it definitely improves the overall experience, and its fun taunting blufor after they decide to park their humvee next to an ied 8)

Firstly Kirra - as you've been told before - this isn't the place :

Reality Teamwork

Secondly - we have server rules.

The asset rule - particularly when it comes to helicopters, causes the admins by far the most work on the server.

For a duplicate squad you get a warning, and then if you don't disband it, you're kicked seconds later. If we dont do this, you either take off, or several other people join the duplicate squad.

Now you understand the rule, hopefully you will know for next time.

Na, you weren't kicked for not being in the squad leader channel, it was because you had a different name in mumble compared to your ingame name and a admin couldn't spot you out so he thought you weren't on it, just to clear that up.

Good games tonight as well, shame the server crashed on Archer

Hehe - well thanks, but to be fair I think that the igi clan guys and rudd, did more to start it with their mumble only nights.

The US server was full with 64 mumblers, for the first time at one point last night, but the teamwork still isnt quite there yet. The EU server was the same in the first week after the launch, but a couple of weeks later, its 100 times better, so hopefully we will see the same on the US server.

I think the main thing missing from the US server at the moment, is that unlike the EU server, we don't have many groups of clan players. It would be great to see more clans joining, as it increases the quality of play on the server.

Although nice server and a lot of fun with the forced mumble and such,
the only thing I don't like is the: "leave the EU now and join the US server" thing that's being forced.
And then suddenly a server crash. I haven't seen any other server crash this much as the RT's

Well we try to seed the US server because it's easier to feel around 12 am GMT I believe is when he tries to start herding you guys over. The guys who don't listen...well we shut the server down on you. :p
I like this server but there are some obnoxious regulars and I believe Space knows who they are. ;)

After a few rounds last night I've realized one thing about the forced use of mumble; Everyone suddenly thinks they're a commander since everyone can hear them. What do I mean by this? We ran an APC last night on Muttrah. We were constantly harassed for support calls, pickups, ammo drops, movement orders! and other useless **** without grid references. We tried our best to lend whatever support we could but after repeated pleas for info on AT troops and APC's falling on deaf ears (I think we limped back to repair about 7 times that round after taking hits in pickup zones) we decided to play it like a normal round meaning if their was a commander we'd follow his orders but we're not going to listen to every Tom, **** and Harry who wants to play Patton. There is far too much chatter on mumble for effective crew communication. You may want to consider relaxing your rules so that only vehicle commanders and/or pilots have to be on mumble or the gunners can have a private channel to cut down on the distractions.

And to add to that the team channels should be also split, like TG already has done (team1 channel, team2channel) because one thing worse than hearing half your team talking at the same time is hearing half the enemy team talking at the same time as well.

@Lead, see why not everyone was so hyped over Mumble when it started getting popular 3 months ago ;)

Basically on a whole people need to be told to stfu a lot of the time, and that is one way mumble fails sometimes, as when someone is in your squad you can just mute them or kick them if they just jabber on, on mumble you do not have that control.

Its like the microphone turns them into a child or something, may not be true for everyone, but I find myself getting really annoyed, especially on Insurgency, youve got half the team dicking about on mumble defending a cache, blufor role up close, and know exactly were the cache is as all the kids are screaming and running around like nubs. Just a little pathetic at times,

My 2 cents of mumble of late anyway, sorry to hijack your thread space :p

Your doing good things with these servers, they just need refining, as do any new things in this game :D

This only happens when SLs who are inexperienced with Radio coms are on. Its much better if a SL who is clearly senior to the others is on to give a guiding force.

Gunners do have a private channel...its called mumble main channel use your local chat to talk to ur gunner.

If there is too much chatter you just have to say "Clear the coms, transmit important info only"

Though people do tend to use Mumble instead of their T rose, when the T rose is actually useful for keeping Coms traffic on the radio, down.

Space has got his admins coming now, so I expect there wil be a tighter leash.

Problem was there was too much chatter on the SL channel as well which you can't block per server rules. Add "blue guys" talking on local nearby, voip and command channel and it's simply information overload. You can't fight effectively with constant chatter in you ear, plain and simple.

Usually all you have to do is tell them to shut up and transmit important info. MUMBLE ADMINS ARE AROUND THE CORNER like Rudd said. Bear with Space. Growing pains are hurtful sometimes.
I will say I DO NOT want to see two seperate team channels. I am against this idea and have been since it came up. If we split teams I probably won't be playing there so much anymore.
