How can we improve our PR Community?

As a member of the Project Reality Community and a clan leader, I would like to hear what other PR community members think can be done to improve our community.
Image

- Entities/nodes are defined in this illustration as the PR Staff, PR Tournament, PR League, Clans, and individuals (PR Fighters). And yes, individuals and PR Fighters are synonymous in this illustration.

- Methods, frequency, and tone of communication from one entity to another

- description and quantity of support from one entity to another

- Looking for specifics of what people think from specified entities in the diagram above

- Are these the primary nodes with the PR community?

- Is one link between nodes stronger than another or is there a need to put greater attention to a specific link from one entity to another?

So, what can be done by the different entities to make things better within our community?

If an organization or entity was overlooked, please let me know. I personally would like to see our community grow stronger.

I’ll see you on the Battlefield!

Please elaborate on your post, as no one has any idea what you are trying to do.

Do you want to attract more people? Do you want to discuss ways for a better behavior within the community? Or what?

Who are the PR Fighters as compared to individuals?

OMG!

We're all connected!!! :D

best thing would be for more peeps to join the PR xfire group, that would mean that it would be easier to contact one another. (e.g. you need an admin)

Also, how about all other community sites get a look at to try and connect them to eachother or the Main PR site.

e.g. is there a youtube PR channel?

Also more pre-organised events would be excellent. Matrox is doing a great job! I hope to see more sooon!

I think this community is nice. Not too many smartasses, alot of clowns ( ;) ) and respect for eachother.
Sadly most of you use different nicknames ingame.

I think the biggest improvement to the PR Community could be made if people stopped complaining about "noobs" and "f'ing 'nilla players" and actually gave a little of their time to:

a) remember that they were new to PR once
b) help a new member learn how to play better
c) play only on well-admin'd servers so any 'tard'-ish behaviour was swiftly eliminated from the full servers through the gaming god's great gifts of "Warn", "Kick" and "Ban".

...because three years after I first stopped lurking and actually registered with these forums, I'm getting really tired of "omg the game is wrecked by new players!!!!!!1eleventy", usually from people who've only been playing six months themselves :)

yer I mean, I picked PR up pretty easily as I hadn't played vBF2 before hand and I was being taught how to play by people in the same room. But still when they were saying I needed a crewman kit for certain things and talking about deviation etc. I was just like "wtf???" sooo glad I didn't give up though :D

I think that the biggest improvement would be making sure that all PR players belong to some sort of group with ther usernames registered before they are allowed to play. That means if people have complaints about them then you can tackle them head on. I do think that people should be checked on before they are allowed to play as noobs ruin games- simple as.

Ideas that have already been presented by other forum users that are on-target for this discussion are:

o more players joining the PR Xfire group

o embedding hyperlinks within websites to connect to each other

o establish / use a YouTube PR channel

o more organized events

You'd have to have like 1 or 2 trusted guys in charge of it that were sent the videos to upload.

I personally feel that we add a bubble in the middle, that would feature a person that rains down wonder and joy upon us all. His 'rain' (of wonder and joy) would escalate our breed to a higher level, a level that would establish us as a more advanced race.

Exactly the kind of elitism that is the biggest problem with this community, IMO. Personally vet each new player? That, I'm afraid, is a laughable suggestion. We've had over 70,000 players log into PR servers this year... you think we're going to make sure that every single one of them can "play the game" to some arbitrary standard? On what criteria would you assess them, even? How well they fly? Issue SL orders? Request kits? I'm truly baffled by how you think we could do it...

Just can't take it seriously as an idea even for a second, sorry! :)

Ideas on how you can improve the PR Community.

- More PR Events, such as golden squad. The ability to drive PR players to practice squad play to enter these events to be the best. It keeps the game interesting.

- More RP events, there are certon aussie servers who do these weekly and from what I am told they are quite fun. RP stands for Role-play. For instance on Al Basarah you would have the Insurgent Commander as a high priority target for the british to capture alive. He would be transported and escorted by all the maps technicals. It's the job of every insurgent to keep the commander safe and prevent the british from capturing him. It's the british's job to eliminate all insurgent threats without killing the commander and make him come with you and bring him back to a safe zone. As the commander can't get into a vehicle or chopper for a quick evac to the safezone. He'd probally have to walk so it gives the insurgents time to re-group and try and assault the british protecting the commander and take him back.

The insurgent commander would have to respond to arrests by a british soldier pointing his gun at him and the commander would have to follow him. Would require dedicated PR players who wouldn't **** around and mess up the RP event but they sure are fun when all goes right.

just out of the question have you been involved with the PRT at all, Personally i do not see what your your trying to get at but i feel that the PRT should be considered as an entity within the PR staff.

The PR community and you :D

What i want:

1. I want to join that Xfire community, and have more people "joining" it, use some sort of promoting, like join this group on Xfire etc. Get this done quickly.

2. Mumble, basically, mumble is a place where you can chat about how your latest game was, chat and surf. Watch videos share, play with positional audio. All in one channel.

all of the above would be a way to intertwine PR into one large entity, where you can make friends, enemies, aquiantances, favourites, and also know who is a good leader and invite them for a game. This is kinda why i want to have a large community, but in one place. Always new people to talk to, not the ooooold people, like rudd, Im ***ing tired of rudd constantly whining... OMG! SHUT UP! haha :D

No but you get the point. (Sorry rudd, you know i wuv you)

3. Now this one, is being worked on by alot of people, and has been suggested in a way on this thread. Its the standardization of gaming in PR, the way to behave.

People are making videos of how to act, like Shavid is doing, this is how to use this, this is that. Which is important, i mean, the thing that got me attracted to PR, was watching Fuzzheads squadleader guide, i was like OMFG!11!!!!!elevenoneone!1

And so, making videos for new people to learn. And having a good training mode. So, if you could make that deep voice in VBF2, to appear in PR, that would be nice :D And if it was eddireyes voice on mumble, i would be very happy, but it can be female ;)

4. Making PR community built, like the community mods, and this is very much true today, aswell as i know it is one of the goals of the devs... That i know of anyway. So people, if you wanna help.. Do it...

The most important of all these would be Xfire and mumble IMO... Cause they bring it all togheter..

My 500 dollas!
