CTD on loading screen (Vista 32bit)

Heya, i've been going through nearly every CTD thread there is and I cant find any posts that are like my problem.
Everything installed great, the game came on and I played on a server but when the map changes on the loading screen it gets to about 95% and then just crashes to desktop, it sometimes gives the pr.exe warning. It only does this when its switching game mode from AAS to Insurgency or Insurgency to AAS or going to a 4km map (sometimes), I have no other problem but this one, i've tried running it in admin mode but it doesn't help.

I DO NOT HAVE A DOWNLOADED VERSION OF BF2 I do have the special forces expansion, both retail baught and I used a CD.

Can anyone help? it's really annoying and it only happens during the mode switching.
System spec:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40Ghz 2.40Ghz
Memory (RAM): 2.00GB
Vista SP2
Vista 32bit
Nvidia 9800GT Video card

Any ideas?

Yeah exactly the same as me, I join a server, first map loads no problem, then on second or third map load, it just does it, it just happened 5 minutes ago from now I just got off PR, it doesn't do this on normal BF2 D: I love PR so this is really fustrating me :( Any help yet anyone?

I have just started playing PR again and love it, after getting a new pc.
The only problem is the CTD.
Dont worry mate i will do some more testing tomorrow to see if i can resolve the problem.
Like running it in compatability mode for XP and in a window.

if you have more than 2gb of ram, use this memory fixed bf2.exe http://realitymodfiles.com/ancient/BF2MemoryPatch.zip

Hello, Guys I have no idea if I have the problem fixed or if its just a fluke but, I installed a memory.dll fix problem but it didn't work so I put my original back, then I kept all of my video settings at high apart from textures which I put to medium, i've played about 4-5 maps in a row without crashing but it went skirmish-skirmish-skirmish-skirmish-AAS so it only changed mode once, I don't know but I hope it's fixed it and I hope it might help you guys to just lower textures a bit, i'll report in how it goes :)

Re: CTD (vista 64)fixed so far NO...... CTD

Have had loads of proplems with Crash To Desktop with dowladable version of bf2 so i decide to buy the reatail version which has helped ..and still get CTD 15% in the next map .and found it was an memory error on PRESSING CRTL DEL Alt so i took the to reading the forums .and downloded....Visual Studio C++ Express from Microsoft. ..the NEW version and didnt update it.............................Backup the bf2.exe file, just in case.

Now, click
Start ->Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition ->Visual Studio Tools ->Visual Studio 2008 Command Prompt
(dont left click on VS 2008 command prompt though, right click on it and then click "Run as Administrator"
**If you dont run it as Administrator the fix will not work**

Then, once the black Command Prompt box is open, navigate to your battlefield 2 directory.
If you don't know how to navigate in DOS, follow this:

Backup the bf2.exe file, just in case.

Then, once the black Command Prompt box is open, navigate to your battlefield 2 directory.
If you don't know how to navigate in DOS, follow this:
(TIP)((copy and paste)).
In Vista 64: cd c:\Program Files (x86)\ ENTER

then usually it's "cd EA GAMES" ENTER

then "cd Battlefield 2" ENTER

NOW WRITE THIS

editbin.exe /LARGEADDRESSAWARE BF2.exe hit ENTER

It should then come up with a "Microsoft copyright or trademark" type thingy, this means it was successful.
Type "exit" and hit ENTER, and it's fixed! .. In Vista 64: cd c:\Program Files (x86)\ ENTER

.....Restart pc ...hope it worked 4 you ...phill ;-)

He only has 2GB of memory and he's using 32 bit anyway, it will never use more than 3gb's and his video card is sure to suck that up before he gets close to using more.

I have 64 bit with 4 GB of ram and the .exe fix helped me but I think this might be a video driver issue or a messed up install file problem. What I would do is re-download the game (use bit torrent it took me less than 30 minutes). When you download this if you have the original install files you used then place them in the bit torrent download area and see if they add any files to them when they check the files you have. I did that and i found out that I was missing a few files in my install file.
