Insurgent and Taliban commander as secondary objective for the coalition forces

developed (stolen) from arjan's idea he posted in this thread:

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f196-p ... ost1101878

what if the taliban and iraq INS commander was a secondary objective? a intel symbol is generated on him as he moves (updates every 3 mins say, and is not very accurate.) but when in a outpost , no intel is generated (otherwise he could never access his command screen without getting pwned within a few mins.)

and if killed, maybe a punishment for INS in some way or massive intel for coalition ?

It's hard enough getting the BluFor team to go after the caches, much less the enemy commander.

could be fun, he would have to keep moving to avoid detection.
only problem is that if he sits in a corner and has 31 insurgents defending just him, then no intel will ever be generated...

well for the next build he can go from any hideout

so i reckon increase the timer (maybe 10-15 minutes), so he can do a good chunk of commanding, using the new toys and then he'll move to a new hideout as the co-alition get close to his location.

dunno sounds interesting enough, could probably be worked in somehow

gotta remove the hideout at the main base though.

Heh, maybe there are randomly placed hideouts that the Blufor must destroy to prevent commanding while having to find caches...

It seems like a good commander would cost the team nothing, since he would sit in the main base hideout the whole round. Not letting the coalition kill him even once.

And then a bad commander(noob, griefer, asshat, etc) could easily give the coalition loads of intel every 60seconds by spawning into the action, or purposely running to enemy positions.

I like the idea, just the system you propose is fairly pointless and very exploitable.

yeah i agree good idea but i think that we would just end up having 32 marines going straight for the INS main base. In an ideal world a great idea but we're not ther yet.... ;)

Nice idea, like that a lot, and also makes a lot of sense when comparing with RL. Atm all we've got is hunting caches but lest we forget that this is not the only thing our armed forces are doing whilst in Iraq/Afghanistan. Hunting HVTs is a very high priority, and I think it would very much help diversify the the objectives of insurgency game mode.

In addition it would add another good reason to play as commander for insurgents on top of the new informant system.

Good suggestion /supported.
