Not quite understanding what your problem is, can you try to explain it differently? Is your main menu messed up and not displaying correctly? could be you have the wrong bf2 version? or you installed it wrong.. not quite sure what your problem is though.

Godofurmum2,
It sounds like your trying to run PR from the BF2 menu? Is that so?
PR must be run from the desktop shortcut to work. The 'levels' installer should by default install a desktop shortcut for you. If it didn't, just run the installer again being sure to check the 'install desktop shortcut' box is checked.
PR shouldn't mess with any other mods, however if PR crashes it may leave some temp. files behind which may look strange when you start up BF2. If this happens just restart PR then quit out of it. This will give PR the time it needs to remove temp. files so BF2 can start up normally.
Hope it helps

no i don't think it is that. ok do you guy still play vanilla. well when you have join a match you get the classes options. such as medic etc. well for me it is showing only the top 4 of them. which is annoying. I don't know if in PR if that is how it should be.

Uninstall PR. I think you may have installed it improperly.
Once PR is gone, play a round of BF2.
Is your problem is gone, then reinstall PR v 0.86 from the full 'core' and 'levels' installers. Make sure the installer path is the main BF2 folder and not anything inside it (like the 'mods' folder). The installers will put the files in the right places.
Before you reinstall PR
Please review the
Project Reality 0.86 Installation Guide

Good luck

Backup large downloads and/or successful game/programs installs to DVD. Shop around and you can find a 100 pack for like $.22 a disk! Saves a lot of time and frustration when things go South. ;)

It sounds like your saying your PR install has corrupted your BF2 install is that right? That can only happen if PR is installed in the wrong directory. Again the correct and default directory or 'target' for the installer is for Vista:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2
and for XP is:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2

Remember when you uninstall PR or BF2 the BF2 folder inside your 'documents' folder doesn't get deleted. You must delete it by hand.

OK
Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Start PR from the desktop shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001
