Hello guys, I'm a newcomer to Project reality i'm also part of a International gaming clan called United Kingdom Combat Elite we orginally come from the game Battlefield 2142 and i found this mod for Battlefield 2 so i fought i'd give it a try and i showed my clan members it and now we are actually enjoying this mod and we where wondering how much a Project reality server would cost Montly and what we most do to get a Project reality server up and running.

Many Thanks,

Take a look at Alpha networks, they are an official Project Reality server provider and can offer you some good deals and support/set-up ;) .
You also need to have a server license in order to run your server, however i believe these come with Alpha networks supplied servers.

Hope that helps,

Shavid.

Hey welcome! If you want to host a PR server, remember to promote Mumble on it! We love mumble! And it really makes the game better!

Glad to see you here ;)

And see you on the battlefield!

If you're prepared to do the work setting things up yourself you can save about £100 a year for a 64-man server by using a cheaper provider. We use Gameservers but there are other even cheaper, although probably less reliable companies out there.

Just a warning, there are already masses of public 64-man servers that don't ever get filled, so you will need a lot of active clan members and friends to be on the server if you want to get it popular.

yeah masterbake has a point alpha networks are overpriced. Gameservers are much cheaper and we've had no problems with reliability. For a 64 man server you can save £100+ if your willing to do 20mins work. Seems like a no brainer to me.

TBH there is enough servers if you dont have the people to get the server populated, or you just have a good reputation.

this is kinda true mate, unless you want a server for clan games.

It would be cheaper and easier for you to contribute to another server or join a community as a resident clan. I think TCC and other communities provide these kind of facilities to do so.

Join the reality Teamwork Community! :)

Reality Teamwork

We aren't a clan, so all the players are equal, but if there's a good group of you that plays on the RT servers regularly, then we are willing to give one of your clan members admin rights.

We have a US and an EU server, and we actively seek clans to play on our server, as we are looking for good quality players, who value teamwork. Our servers are moving towards being permanently passworded, to keep up the quality, and we will also soon be releasing exclusive map packs.

One other thing is that we have a compulsory mumble rule, to ensure the whole server is using mumble - please ensure all your members are using it before they join the server - our mumble guide is here :

Reality Teamwork Mumble guide

Hope to see you soon!

Instead of posting against a company, just say who you use maybe... Makes it look a little less arsey :)

Also, Gameservers price compared to Alpha's is?

And has gameservers even got any UK based servers?

I'd say shop around for the best deal buddy, and also make sure you can actually populate you server witha few members first.

Good Luck

lol it's not really arsey i'm just saying that Alpha Networks isnt as good as gameservers the price alone makes gameservers 167x better ;) .
Robbi187 wrote:Also, Gameservers price compared to Alpha's is?
Quite a big difference. A 64 man public server for 12 months is £671 on Alpha Networks and on Gameservers it's £504. By my calculations that's saving £167, quite a substantial amount of money- point proven.

Yes we're getting one from London now.

I would recommend starting off with something small and just seeing how popular it becomes. If it becomes popular then expand but ther is no point in spending all that money and then not having a populated server. The PR server list tells its own story when you look at all the empty 64 man servers.

I would say don't bother buying a massive server, unless:

1) You have at least 30 active clan members and friends of clan members who can get the server nice and populated from around 5-7 pm, ready for peak time.

2) You're going to provide some kind of unique aspect, like a city, jungle or desert maps server or something. There must already be about 40 servers that run similar map rotations with every map on, give or take a few admin preferences. If you aren't going to do anything different to the mass of reputable PR servers already out there, people won't join.
