A couple of interesting game mode ideas

I've been thinking alot about game modes recently and i've come up with a couple i think would help make PRMM alot more fun and more popular.

Jump

This one is a quite simple idea, one team starts in the air diving toward the enemy base. The enemy has a number of defences they can use to kill the incoming troops before they land. There are no points to capture, rather a single objective, hence each time they spawn they would need to jump again, making life seem even more precious. We'd need to implement parachutes back in for the duration of the jump, and they'd have to be set to a realistic opening height so that the enemy would potentially see a wave of parachutes falling, most of which would die, but spawn times could be shortened a bit so it doesn't get too boring.

Titan mode (yep, you heard right)

This would just be an awesome mode to implement, heres how i think it could work;
Each team starts with some sort of "titan", obviously, realistically there are no giant hovering ships, so we'd need something else like a chinook or something on top of a building. The teams capture points around the map that give them slow loading AA missles (stingers or whatever they're called) which they can use to shoot at the enemy's titan.

I know it sounds like a bleek possibility at the moment, but i can think of several ways for this to work.

ok, i've got a better idea for a titan type mode now, it's the same principal, except we use aircraft carriers for the so called "titans". Teams capture flags in range of the enemy's carrier and fire missiles at it. Perhaps there could also be some kind of thing where you have to go inside the carrier for the final offensive. I'm 99% sure most of this could be done with the engine, and i know it would be one of the most popular modes. come on devs, i want to hear your thoughts.

The carrier is a structure thing put together bit by bit as far i am aware, there is now way possible for the carrier to be destroyed in anyway. I can see the Jump mode being boring because potentially all you ould be doing is jumping out the back of a plane or what ever and falling and getting shot everytime.

i was thinking more along the lines of using the model of the carrier to create a static veichle that can be destroyed. I still think there is a way of having some sort of titan mode. there would ofcourse be some corner cutting, but it'd be pretty damn cool.

One of the reasons I'm thinking of getting 2142 is the titan mode, looks to be good.

If the devs could implement it in some way it can only be good, not having to rely on tickets and just assaulting a large vehicle (if an aircraft carrier can be implemented maybe it oculd move ever so slowly as well).

Hell if that plus kit loadouts could be impleneted, screw 2142.

Normal bf2 carriers cant move...
because they are seperate static meshes.

Allthough there's a way to make em into moveable vehicles...
but that would (very likely) cause VERY SERIOUS lag. (alltho this is untested as far as i know)

They wouldn't need to move. I think what he's getting at is the carrier would be destroyable. If all the parts were coded to work as one and animations were made, it'd be possible.

But I still don't like the idea. In reality, if a carrier is destroyed it's destroyed. A missile is fired and it goes boom. Either we carry on playing without super missiles or we bring them in and it gets boring real fast. It seems unrealistic players would fight for flags just to get a shot at the enemy aircraft carrier. They'd use long range missiles to do the job, and I don't think we'll be doing that any time soon.

As for the jump idea, I'm not keen on that either. Sounds like it'll get old fast when people can't land because they're being shot down. Maybe a clay pigeon shooting mode instead?
