My downloaded bf2 complete collection installs fine, it comes with the 1.41 patch installed with. I have been having the problem when I go to log into my account and I select an account, and try to join the account it crashes to desktop after I try to join. Offline the game works just fine.

I need some help, above is my dxdiag.txt file, well part of it.
I've tried unistalling reinstalling, don't know what to do!

If you have an LCD monitor, try lowering your refresh rate to 60hz

I hate to say this cause a lot of people think it's a cure all, but you need more RAM. May not be the cause of your CTD since I was able to play a couple months ago with 512MB, but it might be crashing because the network code takes more memory to run than offline mode.

One thing to try is looking at the event log in your Computer Management Screen

Go To >> Start Menu
Right Click >> My Computer
Select >> Manage
Select Application log or event log, not sure about XP, but fish around and you'll find it. Once found, let me know what error you get when it crashes.

I perosnally think it has something to do with XP home edition sp3, most people have that when crashing. I had the same home edition xp sp3 and I reinstalled a fresh copy of XP and its fixed now.

Well I have an old copy of bf2, and when I go to play that it works fine without the patch, but everytime I try to install the patch and then play bf2 multiplayer it crashes. I was wondering if that has some significance or not

I've looked in my event viewer and didn't see anything for the time frame I would have received and error in. I also tried to end processes that the ea help tip says to do, and there is one that it won't let me end,(ccsvchst.exe) it says access is denied. I also tried what Mr.Hyde recommended with taking my monitor back to 60hz and that didn't work either.

Have you downloaded a new copy of the 1.41 patch? Maybe it's corrupt

I have a similar problem. For me it was my audio. try disabling all of your audio drivers and see if you can play the game without audio. then we will know if its your audio or not. for me this is the case. I am searching for a way around it so I can play with sound but so far I have no luck.
