Hello all.
I dont know if I am posting into the right forum but anyway.
Recently we had a CW on Jabal Al Burj. We started as MEC and our plan was to hold west beach until other flags are captured. After we captured Dam enemy apc appeared in the water. We shot it with everything but as I heard it was behind some sort of carrier force field. it scored about 50 kills and eventually we lost.
But when we played as USA, we were quite winning. I had 22:4 score with my machine gun , attack helis spawned, took off etc. When both went back to reload rockets, they were destroyed by enemy. So was every vehicle on carrier. Shouldnt they be protected by force field too? Or how it works?

You're probably talking about the death-zone for enemies around it. Only gives you the "get back to your position" message and eventually kills you if you don't leave. But doesn't stop bullets.

I belive they put some kind of sphere around the carriers in PR to prevent AAs being fired towards them...

I am most certain there is a force field around carrier which protects units inside and it is same big as the death -zone. We shot the apc multiple times with HATs LATs and our apcs, besides the guy who told me hardly would just make it up.

Hmm... Maybe they did, didn't know that.

The carrier protection mesh has a 500m radius, which kinda reaches the beaches on Jabal, since the carrier is so close to land.

ye it probably needs to be removed from Jabal or made much smaller.

and those destroyed vehicles on carrier?

@Rhino: just lower it or move it south. Both reduce the distance from the shore.

[BOS] UNIKALUS [BOS] VALDAS were crewmen in both APCs. I hope I wont see such pros again

The shield only protects the carrier from projectiles coming in from outside of it, not inside and I think that spot was reported before, also the beach isn't inside the dome of death (the 'going out of bounds' thing) so you can still get close enough.

Yeah, some part of the beach here must be on dome of death, you can go there with the AA and take down choppers directly on the deck.

Does this explain why we, as USMC (me with a SAW) standing on a hill south of the Dam couldn't hit a single MEC guy in a squad running on the shoreline around where the dome of death starts? I expended a magazine, and all of our squad was shooting away without a single flinch from our targets for reaction.

I swear that I saw around 5 tracers from the SAW (=alot of bullets) "hit" a guy laying down shooting at us but he didn't even twitch.

Either this or some odd network quirk I've never seen.

They moved ~ 200m west though and then I could mow them down without any problem.

Confirming this bug. Two hydra hueys got wiped on the deck by some baserapers on TG, with the MEC AAV.

Bear in mind, when its on the carrier the dome is a part of one of the carrier pieces by default so you cant really lower it as it stands. I think the dome colmesh should be removed from the carrier model and always be placed by the mapper so he can configure it to the appropriate map. Having Domes at varying sizes would be nice also...
