hi guys.

when I click on the PR or BF2 executable or shortcut I get this error



translation is this: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005) , click to terminate program.

I did this things

1) reinstalled the SO
2) checked that it wasnt a RAM problem swiching and taking out my ram stics, pluging only one, ect.
3) tried installing bf2 on another HD


the problem ONLY appears when I install the 1.41 patch. without it I can play BF2.

I tried other BF2 installers and patches downloaded from other places.

I tried to use the "bf2.exe" from a friend and it worked, but after 2 days I got this error.

any ideas?

it should even prevents some other possible issues

you should also scan for viruses

as for ram checking there are tools that can do it: memtest.exe - Greatis Software

must not be a ram problem could be a problem with the board (hardware failing)?

If you used the 1.5 patch
I'm afraid you 'screwed the pooch' as it were. I.E. your BF2 install will not work at this time with PR. Only fix it to uninstall and reinstall BF2 then update with the FULL 1.41 patch only.

I did not install any other patch than 1.41

the modified BF2.exe solves the problem at first, but after a reboot the game dont start. the bf2.exe process just starts for half of a second and disapears. there is no splash screen or any visual indication from the game after clicking the shortcut.

Try redoing the update with this one

Sometimes does not complete, but looks like it does.
To find your version of BF2
run PR in 'windowed' mode
Look at the upper left corner
you should see
v.1.1.2965-797.0

you did not reply on the virus scan suggestion...

Free antivirus - Avira AntiVir "personal edition" is free and might be able to tell you if ur pc is infected
