For some reason after installing BF2 1.5, the game will, once alt-tabbed, never reappear. It will come back up and I see the cursor and a black screen. If I start the task manager, BF2 will immediately crash. I have absolutely no issues with BF2 1.41.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I am on Vista with an ATI Radeon HD3870 GPU, Catalyst 9.8 drivers.


Edit: I found the problem. If there is any anti-aliasing on, it will crash. When anti-aliasing is set to "Off" in video.con, there is no crash. Possibly this is a Catalyst issue.

I can confirm this bug, alt tabbing crashes bf2 if any anti-alias mode is selected.

switching anti-alias to off solves the problem

Not a ATi user though, NVIDIA GTS 8800 512mb. Vista 64bit

its known bug or feature of 1.5

i may solved this prob ingame press ESC to enter the menu than press alt+tab instead press alt+tab ingame xD it works

I've this problem even with Windows 7 / BF2 1.41.
Going to the main menu before alt-tab works for me!

Sure hope it's just some people who experience this, 'cause frankly, it's completely fubar. If AA is on, alt+tabs doesn't work in 1.5? How about if I play with 1024x768 resolution my mic won't work or what?

Jup the same by me, and vanilla too. And the same by ESC then alt tab

loll, EA really cant release a patch without some serious bug.

i dont seem to have a problem with this..
